Baby shower food

I have been to catered showers, showers at restaurants, and teas. I likethe teas the best...I can eat catered ravioli any time.

I just went to one last week for a couson. They had a nice light pasta salad, cole slaw, tea sandwiches, cold cuts, a tossed salad. Very elegant.

Someone having a baby? :cutie: Can I come?

Just remember too that the food is up to the hostess(es). The Mom-to-be often just shows up, relaxes and prays that her squished stomach can hold all that good food! :bitelip:

I am just blown away at how many people have these showers at their homes...I am 42 yeares old and have never been to a shower baby or bridal that was held in someones home....and none of them was anything less than a full course meal....it really has to be a regional thing!

Yep, it is absolutely regional. my family is originally from the midwest and I grew up in CA. When I got married, I lived in MA (my parents did as well). My aunt threw my shower at my parents home and it was the topic of much conversation...the MA people couldn't stop marveling at how small it was (only 40 people) while the midwest/ca people couldn't stop marveling at how big it was (omg, 40 people!). lol. I personally prefer smaller showers thrown in a home. I've been to wedding showers that had over 100 people at them. And yes, the bride does open all the gifts. I can't even imagine.
