Baby on Board

Hi, we will be taking my son to universal for two nights in May. He will be six and a half months old. We are staying at the hard rock. We are taking him to wdw first, and I have read advice about taking a baby there. I haven't read any for us. What advice can you give me? Do the parks have child care centers? Can I request a crib (pak n play) at the hotel? Can he sit on my lap on any rides (I know at disney baby can ride on a lap on any rides that don't have height restrictions)? Should we be staying at a different hotel than the hard rock (dh thinks it is fine, but we haven't stayed there before, so I don't know)? Tia

i'm looking at the website and not finding info on lap babies.
there could be some possibilites such as the motionless seats at DE and Shrek, etc.

look thru the www.universalorlando.com site and check on the tame rides to see if you can find lap baby info.

all the rides have a child swap room so you could take turns and both could ride.

yes, the parks have baby centers that you can use.

• TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D - Must be at least 40". Children between 40"-48" must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.

*These rides have "test seats" available so that guests can determine comfort and fit for themselves before riding.

• Jurassic Park River Adventure® - Must be at least 42". Children between 42"-48" must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.
• Pteranodon Flyers® - Please note that Pteranodon Flyers® is designed for children 36" - 56" inches tall. A child meeting this requirement must accompany guests over 56 inches tall. Children between 36"-56" must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.
• *Dragon Challenge™ - Must be at least 54"
• *Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls® - Must be at least 44". Children between 44"-48" must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.
• Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges® - Must be at least 42". between 42"-48" must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.
• *Incredible Hulk Coaster® - Must be at least 54"

Thanks, macraven. I appreciate you getting that info for me. Luckily I'm not a thrill ride fan, and my mother is coming with us (she is not a big ride fan, so anything I do want to ride she can be with lo). Very glad to hear about the baby centers

The nice thing is that everyone can go into the lines, so you won't be split up outside of the lines like you are at Disney. this is great at this age; when baby gets older and more nervous about spooky things, it won't be as great, but for now it's nice.

the entire family stays together until it is time to get on the ride.
baby swap rooms are air conditioned.

there are also areas in the parks where staff is stationed for quiet rooms to nurse a baby, feed a small one, etc.
