*Baby Names for Expecting Sister*

I love the name Madeline. Maybe that is popular these days??? If I ever have a girl that is what I want to name her.

I like the name keira

My dh is a pediatrician and sees all kinds of baby names come through the office. The other day, there was a baby named Autum. His nurse asked the mom about the name and she said she really liked fall (the season) The nurse said "why did you decide to leave the 'n' off the end of her name?" The mom was HORRIFIED. She said "there's an 'n' at the end of Autumn??????" Oops.

If we would have had a girl her name would have been Jordan Cayleigh or Nathalie Lauren princess:

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not a fan of unusual names. I'm more of a traditionalist and like "easy" names! Our friend's daughter just had twins and named them Kendyl and Cierra. Those girls are going to have to spell their names all their lives. No one will ever get it right the first time. I know what it's like because my maiden name was very difficult to pronounce and spell and I always had to correct people. When I had my first daughter, I named her Kerianne. It's always spelled wrong, even among my family, and that's not a real difficult one. I learned with my second daughter and named her Kimberly. She has not had a problem with people being able to spell her name. Just my 2 cents! Do you ever notice that people give boys more traditional names? With all that being said, I'm sure she'll have a lovely baby and name her something beautiful. :cloud9:

I like Callista. My friend named her daughters Cecily and Tabitha........both very cute, I think. My little brother would've been Shelby if he'd not been a boy. I am Paige........it's getting more common, but still not heard too much.

My tastes aren't so different, but not too trendy either. My sons would've been Alexa and Laura if they'd been girls.

I love the suggestions of Melanie, Analie and Marissa, though I like Marisa better. I also like Miranda.

I am told that my daughters have unusual names. I don't know that I necessarily agree, but...their names are Eva, Amelia, and Keira (after Keira Knightley, love Pirates of the Caribbean!!!)

reminds me of a client who wanted to name her daughter 'chastity' but spelled it 'chasetitty' on the birth certificate

there are quite a few 'maddies' at the local preschool-of course if the little girl has a temper then they tend to get nicknamed 'mad maddie". :goodvibes

Unusual girls names that I like are Ava, Avery, Skyla, Kalia, Mischa, Keiko, Rain and Jessamy...not sure how common these all are in the USA though. Congratulations on your new neice :goodvibes

Those are absolutely GORGEOUS names, I love all of them!

My youngest DD is expecting a little girl and her name will be Isabella Rose. My other DD has a little girl named Liliana Grace.

I think both of those are pretty names. I do like Callista, though.

If my DD had been born about a year later than she was, her name would have been:

Michaela.... that name

We also tossed around the name: Rhiannon

I am Paige........it's getting more common, but still not heard too much.
My DD is also Paige.....and you are right, it is getting more common, but still not heard too much. That is why I loved the name. I also have always loved the name Brenna for a girl. Callista is pretty, but of course I only think of Callista Flockhart......also, Callista sounds like one of those drugs for impotency, or insomnia, or arthritis......Lunesta, Callista, sounds all the same to me!

My apologies if your daughter has this name, but all I see is the first four letters of Anal.

I think Callista is a lovely, uncommon, yet legitimate name. I would much rather see a little Callista than another little Mikayla, McKenzie, or Madison (again, my apologies to parents of these girls, but those lovely names are getting very popular).

We actually went with the alternate spelling of Annalia because of the family name "Ann" and my same concern with the potential cruelty of the other kids.

I spelled it in my post using the original spelling of the girl I know we "stole" it from.

We just found out we're expecting :goodvibes

Our girl name is Cora Rose (named after my 2 grandmas). If it's a girl, we'll probably call her Corrie.
