Baby gators in Living With The Land?

Living With The Land at Epcot is one of our family's favorite attractions. We especially love seeing the baby gators toward the end of the ride. Any idea why they are there, or what Disney does with them when they are grown? Are they, umm, "on the menu" somewhere like most things on the ride ? :scared1:( I hope not). Thanks!

They are sold in 4, 6 and 10 piece gator-nugget meals. :)

No idea. I'm looking forward to seeing if anybody knows.

On the Behind the Seeds tour, our guide told us they are "on loan" from a gator farm, and they go back there when they get bigger.

Maybe they incubate the eggs and let them grow out a bit there before releasing them into the Kilimanjaro Safari?

I second this. They are born at the gator farm, then when they reach a certain age Disney takes them and raises them until maturity, at which point they go back to the gator farm

Just like everyone else already commented; when we did the Behind the Seeds Tour, they mentioned that the are on loan from a gator farm. When they get too big they go back to the farm and are replaced by a new litter of babies. Thus if you happen to see an empty tank, they are in the process of changing them out. :thumbsup2

Pilot program. They're training them to recognize resort pool wristbands, and to not eat people who are not pool-hopping between resorts.

Well, darn. I was hoping for a nice gator etouffee someplace on site.

Well, glad to hear they are not being trained to keep non-resort guests off the Poly beach during Wishes :cool1:. Thanks for all of the replies.

Give it time, I haven't seen any of the Poly regulars chime in yet.

Wonder why? What's eating them? ;) ***

***Nobody really says that anymore do they? Like, since the 1950s?;)

This is interesting to know! Thanks for asking!!!

Unfortunately, after DD saw the shrimp there, she won't eat shrimp anymore. She says they're ugly!!!

Your daughter's description is interesting since I think live shrimp are much cuter than the dead ones I eat.

This. We did Behind the Seeds in November and were told the same. She said they usually swap out the juveniles for babies once they're 2 years old.
