We are going in December with our 11 month old and we are flying. Do any of the quick service or table service restaurants have mixed vegetable side dishes? Right now, she is eating some regular table food and I am working on introducing items I know we can find easily at WDW but I don't know how much baby food she will still be eating in December, I would suspect a pretty good amount. If you have traveled with a baby, what have you done about baby food? Put it in your checked luggage, shipped it, ordered from garden grocer or something else. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

We carried some in our luggage (I put them in our socks and then in a zip lock but never had any break in transit) and ordered some from garden grocer.

We went in July when DS was 9 months old. I just packed his food in a tote bag with the rest of his baby stuff. I'd hesitate to put it in the luggage only because what if it exploded or if its glass what if the glass broke. I don't know just wouldn't want to chance it. At 11 months my DS was mostly on table foods. He'll be a little over 13 months when we go next month and I'm done buying baby food.

I can't remember the kid's meals we saw at Disney in July but I remember seeing meals that they were pretty well balanced. If you really need baby food then I'd recommend using Garden Grocer just so you don't have to worry about any mess in your luggage.

We use GardenGrocer.com for baby food, diapers, wipes, milk, and any other baby supplies, as well as breakfast food, snacks, water, & soda for the rest of the family. W've always been very pleased with them.

The pressure in an airplane is not enough to cause glass to explode unless the container is cracked to begin with (and then only maybe). If you are concerned, pack the jars in a zipper bag container - you always need those types of things on vacation.

As far as the restaurants go, if there in a vegetable listed anywhere on the menu (even on the kids menu), you can get it as a side dish. For example, the meatloaf at 50s Prime Time has green beans listed as a side on the entree. You can get a dish of only green beans. At some counter services, applesauce is offered as one of the kids meals sides. You can get just a container of applesauce.

Gerber now has baby food in plastic containers. You could always pack that if you were nervous about glass in your suitcase.

How about bringing a food mill with you? They have portable one's that are less than $15 and then you can just grind up whatever you are eating and feed it to her. Easy to use and clean.
