I was wondering what exactly the baby care centers have in them. I have a little one who will be turning 1 soon, and I'm sure I will need to make use of any services available.
from what i've read, there are rocking chairs for mothers to use to nurse baby...there's a microwave to heat up baby food and milk, changing tables, little potty toilets for those being potty trained. there is more info and pictures in this link (baby center in DL) http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/hello.htm
We briefly were in the one in DL. There is water--we refilled sippies there, a microwave and small kitchen area, highchairs, a child size table and chairs, rocking chairs (including a child size one), and a child size potty.
Yes I am! We have lived in Texas for about 2 years now, but I was born and raised on Oahu. I am a Kailua girl How about you? Is the "North Shore" in your name a Hawaii reference?

yah, the "north shore" is in reference to the north shore of oahu...where i am originally from! waialua, to be exact! i'm a country girl! been living in washington for the past ...oh, goodness...15 years now! went to UW and never moved back home...
I would add, they will not let you take your stroller in, so when I was alone, it was hard to take everything valuable with me and all my son's stuff (so make sure the stroller is left in charge of someone else).
It does get a little crowded in the changing room, especially with only one sink to wash hands (and up to 6 diapered/pottying kids at once with their parents!).
We loved the babycenter and my son called it his house! He's quite tall and the changing tables are big, so I didn't have to squish him onto one of the tiny ones in the bathrooms in front of a crowd. We'd always try to go to the Baby Center or the private family bathroom for diaper changes whenever possible or timed changing the wet diapers when we'd be back in the vicinticy.
We go to DL every 2-3 weekends for single day visits and the occasional weekend and we've never had a problem leaving our things in our stroller at DL or DCA Baby Care. Granted, I put my billfold in an unseen location, but I never haul anything in but the kids, the diaper and the wipes. We have a SkipHop changing pad/diaper carrier that is highly portable or we simply use a cosmetic bag that is big enough for a few diapers, wipes and cream (if it's one of those days).
The only folks who really go into those corners are people with kids and folks going to First Aid. If you are worried, park your stroller nearer to the First Aid door - in either park (in DL it's farther away, maybe 30 -50 feet - at DCA, it's 10 feet or less). You will NEVER have an issue at the DCA one - it's in such a low traffic area of the park! Once you see where it's set up, you won't have any concerns.
BTW - The DCA one also has an adult bathroom in it. They had room to include one in the design there. The DL one is original to the park and there is no room to modify it to include one.
