Has anyone found the best way to clean and sterilize baby bottles while cruising? Will the staff help with this?

Why not just plan on using the disposable Platex liners for the week?

Of course your child might have a special need, but I thought babies had to be at least three months to cruise? By three months I don't think you need to sterilize anymore, you can wash the nipples in hot water in the sink, just pack a little dish soap.

This is not meant as a flame, but IMHO any child who still needs sterilized bottles should maybe not be traveling on a cruise ship with 3000 people in close quarters, and visiting ports of call in third world countries.

No, the bottles don't NEED to be sterlized - but we just wash them in the dishwasher at home and I heard that the staff will help you out with this...just wondering if anyone else had that happen. We probably will end up with the disposable liners - but when your baby is used to one type of nipple (at 10 months) - it might be hard for them to change.

Thanks

Ahh...I see. :)

You could also just pack a bottle brush and dish soap and do them in your sihnk--the water is plenty hot.

Personally I don't think I'd expect the crew to take care of my baby bottles, and even if they did, I'm not sure I'd want them to. I'd be panicked that they'd be accidently misplaced or something.

Have a great trip!

We used the disposable glass nursette bottles, like the ones you get in the hospital. They are a little more pricey than the mixable formula, but the convenience was well worth it.

I just washed my daughters out in the bathroom sink...brought along some dishwashing liquid and washed them by hand..

Make sure you bring some kind of soap to wash out the bottles. I forgot. I nurse, so bottles weren't an issue. The bath soap did not really work on his sippy cup.

I bought those Palmolive disposable cloths and packed them in a baggie and they worked wonderful! The water was hot enough to clean the nipple and Playtex nurser for our baby(at the time was 6 mos). The cloths also were anti-bacterial formula so I felt pretty good about the cleanliness.I let them air dry on a paper napkin.Have a great cruise with your little one!!! 10 mos is a fun age:)

This is what we did also. That is one thing that DCL is missing, a baby center like the parks. When you go into the bathrooms on the ship there is no changing tables. And if your little one is used to a warm bottle, access to a microwave would be nice. Oh well, the ship only has so much room.
