Anyone have/use the Baby Bjorn Sport???

I used the baby bjorn w/ds#1 and planned on using it w/DS #2, but I no longer can. I had it out to wash and my dog decided to use it as a bed in his crate!! The other day I realized I hadn't washed it yet and low and behold...my darling dog took it out of the pile and brought it into his bed.

He has done this before with things...but didn't even think of it, as he hadn't done it in a long while. So...needless to say, I'm getting a new one. I don't think I could put DS in it after the dog used it as his bed....:scared1:

I use a Mei Tai and like it alot better than the Bjorn. Not as much strain on that back.

Would you be interested in learning about different types of carriers? There are so many out there that you can use for a much longer period of time and they are much better for you and baby. If you go to http://thebabywearer.com/ there is a ton of info, or if you are interested at all you can feel free to PM me with any questions.
I loved using my sling when my girls were newborn and then switched to a Mei Tei carrier and also use a Beco (like an Ergo, but prettier..lol) They are all very comfortable, most you can use to 40 pounds and do have a high resale value. I still carry my 15 month dd (26 pounds)in my Beco or Mei tei on my back most times when we go out...its nice not having to bring the stroller into small stores and crowded places. Let me know what you think :)

I agree with the others -- I used a Bjorn with my first 2 kids, but with my 3rd discovered other carriers and was sooo much happier for it. The Bjorn killed my shoulders -- even the new one -- once they passed 12 lbs. Mei Teis and the Beco were wonderful. I still use the Beco with my DS who is 25 lbs and 18 mos old.

I also found that I liked good slings -- not the kind you get at BRU or other chain stores (I tried them with my first and hated it). Check out www.thebabywearer.com there is fabulous information there about the carriers. It does tend to draw the attachment parenting crowd, but you don't need to go with that parenting philosophy to wear carriers that actually feel comfortable :)
