We leave for DL tomorrow and usually bring our stroller with us. However we have opted to leave it at home and bring our daughters Kelty backpack on this trip instead. Here is my question. Do we have to leave it at the ride entrance like a stroller or can we collapse it and bring it on the rides with us? Obviously there are some that wouldn't accommocate this (Indy, splash, the mountains...) and that's ok because we plan on using baby swap instead. Thanks.

If you see this, I'm wondering how the Kelty worked out for you?
Because I was thinking of doing the same thing... it just seems like our son could see better.

Came on the boards to look and see if anyone had experiences doing so!

Stroller cant, bags are fine... they will make you park your stroller outside... Most rides have pockets to put your things in.

I'm pretty sure they are asking about a baby back carrier, not a bag type back pack.

I don't know if I would use one, just because it seems like it would be a pain to get the child in and out that many times a day.

This is a really good question. I'm guessing if it fits comfortable into the ride vehicle with you (like a bag) they will let you bring it. What do they do if someone's bag (backpack) is too big for a ride? Do the CM's keep it till the ride is over? I'm guessing whatever the answer to that is the answer to your backpack question. I think rides like Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion etc. would fit the back pack when folded up.

most rides will have a compartment for your bags. I carried a backpack around with me and I had no problems. I was able to bring it on every ride, although I wouldnt recommend it on cali screamin.

We were talking about a Kelty baby backpack that has wheels that extend and becomes a fully functional stroller. When not used as a stroller, it has straps and waist belt/frame to be a backpacking style baby carrier. We were allowed to treat it however we wanted. If we wanted to call it a backpack, they let us take it on the ride. If we called it a stroller, it was to be left outside. We had no problems... it worked great. As for getting the baby in and out, DH and I have a system that only takes a second to get DD in and out. It is super quick, just takes teamwork.

Great! Good to know! I always take a baby carrier of some kind to the parks since little ones seem to want to be held at some point or other and it allows us to keep moving while taking care of baby at same time!

Oh and in case anyone is interested one of the best places to nurse a baby is on haunted mansion ! :) Pretty long ride and the doom buggies are nice and private! :D
