We will be going to disneyland with our baby, who will turn 5 months while we are there. Can he go on the rides with us, that do not have height requirements. Is it ok for me to hold him on rides? I just would like to go on some rides as a full family, and avoid the stroller pass thing sometimes.

So any thoughts? is it safe to hold the baby?
Tomorrow we are going thru the map, and our planning book, with the kids to decide out "route" and plan of action. I just wanted to take the baby situation into consideration.

Thanks in Advance

Hi! We are also a homeschooling family. When my 4th child was 3 weeks old he went on most of the rides with no height requirements. I even nursed him on POC, the Train etc. We are taking our baby girl this year for her first time in December at 5 months. The only thing my husband does want to do different is bring ear muffs. He has always worried about all of the babies ears on SW. So I am going to make him happy and get a pair. You will love seeing things through your baby's eyes. Have fun!

We'll be taking a 6 month old next year. We took DS (now 6) when he was about 8 months. I suggest bringing a sling or a buckle carrier like an Ergo or Beco or angelpack LX (www.frogmama.com). It's nice to just wander w/ your LO on your front and not have to deal with getting them in and out of a stroller all the time.

Totally agree. We took my daughter when she was 5 months. I carried her in the bjourn everywhere. It was nice not having to stress about getting the stroller everywhere. Also on the ride it is nice I just kept her in the carrier.
We are now are taking her at 14 months and I wish for the days I could just carrier her around all day.

ITA with everyone else. All of my kids (I have 4) have been to DLR while quite young, and they did great! You definitely want a carrier of some kind if possible. I've used both a sling and a Bjorn and found the sling to be far more comfortable after the baby reaches 15 lbs. But that's my personal preference.

Have fun planning!

Definitely bring a Baby Bjourn or something similar. If baby is facing forward, you won't even need to take them out of it on rides. The thing with slings is that many CMs will ask you to take baby out so they can face forward. We took our youngest DD at 6 months and we had a kind CM at Winnie the Pooh let her ride facing in because she was asleep.

I'd be cautious about bringing an infant on any ride that has strong or jerky motions....better safe than sorry....why put a little one through it.....

Most things with jerky motions have a height requirement.

Oh, I'd also like to add that Roger Rabbit doesn't have a height requirement but they are required to sit on their own (not on lap) so that one would be out for a 5 month old.

FWIW, I can still comfortably carry my 30 pound almost 4 year old on my back in an Ergo for short periods of time. Not that I'd want to all day, but if you have something like that instead of a Bjorn, it will be easier on your back.

Yup, they can get on pretty much all the fantasyland rides, POTC, Buzz,
etc... took our son when he was 2 months in a sling and thats where he stood all day. :) He slept pretty much all day at that age and i never was asked to take him out by the cm's?

Have a great time enjoying the magic!

:cheer2:

We are borrowing a stroller, because i dont own one. LOL I use a sling, or a wrap everyday. And i am going to borrow an ergo as well, so DH will wear DS sometimes. I love baby wearing. The stroller we are brorrowing is a Juvy sit stand stroller. so DS can ride in the front, and my 5 year old can ride or stand in the back if she gets tired.

I am so excited!!We are leaving on saturday, and i am busy planning all week this week! last night we let the kids stay up until 930, just going over all the ride descriptions, and trying to formulate a plan! THis is so fun...

Edited because I put DH instead of DS riding in the stroller. LOL
