We recently got back from DLR, and, as good Disneyophiles, we can't wait to get back :)

However, next time we go back, we'll have a new little one with us. I'm not sure exactly how old the baby will be, but definitely less than a year old.

I think I remember reading that there's "Baby Care" stations. Is this correct? If so, where are they located? Are they just a room with comfortable chairs? A place to feed a baby?

And, any hints for taking a baby? Can I wear her on the rides in a baby carrier?

Yes there is a baby care center in DL. There is only one and its located off main street. Its a quiet place to nurse/feed baby. I believe there is a microwave, too.

I just took my 12 month old to DL a few weeks ago. She did great and was able to go on a number of rides.

As for carrying/wearing your baby on rides i believe thats not allowed. Every time i got on a ride with my daughter (she wanted to sit on my lap facing me, in a way holding onto me) a CM would tell me before i got a chance to turn her around that everyone needed to face forward. And even some rides, she needed to be sitting in the seat next to me with me holding around her (not on my lap).

I used the baby care center in DL last year and found it very charming. It has a Victorian theme. They have changing tables, small potties, private nursing areas, places to feed babies, and also purchase baby food and diapers. It's a nice peaceful place. I know they have one in CA, but I haven't been there, and I heard they have all the same stuff, without the cute theme.

We went last time with my sister-in-law's family too, and she had a 5 month old at the time. She wore him on almost everything, I think facing out, but I can't remember that for sure. I know the only ride she was asked to take him out of the carrier on was the Astro Orbiter and I don't know if that was just that particular CM or if that is a ride rule. She ended up not riding that because she felt safer with him strapped in the carrier than sitting on her lap at that age. From other things I've read on here you can wear them on rides as long as it's the buckled kind of carrier and not a wrap.

Yes they are supposed to face forward but can stay in the carrier. We had a CM make an exception on Winnie the Pooh because she was asleep. I didn't have to turn her around.

Roger Rabbit they have to sit on their own next to you (i wouldnt recommend until they are more steady sitting). On Astro Orbitor they can't be in the carrier and must wear socks or shoes. Autopia has a height requirement of 32" I think. I know DS wasn't tall enough to ride at under a year.

3 Minnies- Do you know why they have to wear socks on Astro Oribiter and nothing else? The same CM that said out of the carrier also pointed out he wasn't wearing socks so couldn't ride. I am just curious if you happen to know why. We could solve one mystery from our last vacation! :goodvibes

I don't know why. I read another report stating their child didn't walk yet so didn't have shoes and it was July so they didn't have socks on so the child couldn't ride. I personally despise the ride so I don't ride it anymore and was happy to sit out when my youngest was an infant. It may be because the rider sits on the floor of the rocket and not on a seat with feet dangling??? That's the only thing I can think of.

We went last summer when DD2 was just 6 months old.
I found that a carrier was a great addition to a stroller and its nice to alternate. I found it to be really hard on the shoulders to have her in the carrier all day.
Also, make sure to apply that sunscreen.
I found that taking a break in the babycenter to be vital. It was a cool dark place to nurse, or bottle feed. You can buy diapers, formula and I believe babyfood there as well.
Stay in a hotel that is close by to go for a swim or bath to cool the baby down. It can be hot.
We were able to have her in the carrier for most rides.
Pirates and IASW were great long rides to nurse as well.

Ha ha ha. That might have been me ;) That could be it though, that their feet are touching the gross floor. Personally, I wouldn't want my kids barefooted there, but my sister-in-law isn't as germaphobic as me :)
