I have a 3 month old daughter & a friend has an almost-4-year-old daughter who’s been asking to go to Disneyland, so we’re going to go next week since all the holiday decorations will be up. (I figure it’ll be a good time to get a 1st-Christmas card photo with my daughter) My (childless) cousin is going to come, too, so there will always be at least one adult per child, even if one of us needs to run to get something or wants to go on something the little ones are too small for.

I’m pretty efficient when it comes to Disney parks. I like a thorough but adaptable plan. But I’ve never gone with a baby before, so I’m looking for efficiency advice in that department. Mainly:

1-Pram vs. car seat stroller? I’m leaning towards pram since it’s easier to get her in & out, & she’ll be able to sleep easily in it. The stroller base can hold the car seat or it has a pram attachment, which can turn into a stroller seat but she’s still too young for that I believe…might test that out today.

2-What rides can I take her on/hold her? She can’t sit up on her own, yet, though she is very close & has a strong neck & legs (basically hasn’t needed help holding her head up on her own since she was a week old). If a ride doesn’t have height restriction, it it ok to hold her on the ride or are there any that don’t have height restrictions but still require them to sit on their own? (For example, Mickey’s runaway railroad? Peter Pan? Etc)

Any other baby advice? I was relieved to learn about the baby care centers—I’m sure I’ll be using that.

The three-year-old seems pretty fearless, so I’m pretty sure she’ll be gung-ho to go on anything she’s tall enough for.

Thanks!

We took our four month old to WDW, but I believe their ride policies are the same. Any ride without a height requirement will allow baby to ride. I have never been asked to seat my now one-year-old on his own and he’s always been able to sit on my lap. I’ve also worn him in a baby carrier on rides, though I believe this typically is cast member discretion.

I recommend not using the car seat attachment as it can become hot and uncomfortable for babe. Plus, it’s not recommended to keep a baby in a car seat for more than 2 hours in any 24 hour period, and if you have the option of bringing the stroller then that’s the safer, more comfortable choice.

Thanks! Yeah, the 2hr thing was definitely on my mind, though I don’t expect she’ll be in there that long. That’s good to know about carriers on the rides.

I actually have two kinds & will probably bring both—one’s essentially a fanny pack/seat, which I figured would be easier than the standard baby carrier, (which she doesn’t always love to be in anyway—she likes to see the world, rather than Mommy’s collarbone), but yesterday she got a little overwhelmed at a friend’s house & I’m thinking I might put the standard carrier in a locker, in case she prefers its “security”/“snuggle-factor” in the crowd. 👍

My baby now 18 months has gone many times in his first year since we live close to Disney, and any ride without height restrictions he just went in my lap. So yes anything like Runway Railway or Peter Pan is good, even Pirates! The baby care centers are a nice break from crowds to get baby taken care of. One is off of main street and the DCA one is close to the ghiradelli area.
