I need to know if my 7 month old and my 2 yr old will be able to ride with us on Epcot's slow rides like Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Ellen's Energy Adventure etc. Otherwise I might decide not to go to Epcot at all...
Any tips from people who have traveled with kids this age is appreciated.
We are arriving at Orlando May 7... We have a 5yr old, a 2 yr old and a 7 month old.
Thanks for your info.

Unless there is a height restriction, they can all go on all of them. We took dd1 and dd3 on Living With the Land, Spaceship Earth, Journey Into the Imagination, and Ellen's Energy Adventure. I would NOT do Ellen's Energy Adventure again with my 1 year old. I read "Bill Nye the Science Guy and Ellen Degeneres" and off we went- I should have paid attention to the part about the loud, scary dinosaurs as my daughter was scared to death and screaming through the whole thing! SKIP ELLEN"S ENERGY ADVENTURE until they are older.

We also did the Maelstrom in the World Showcase.

I thought I had read somewhere that there was an AGE restriction for Maelstrom...3 years minimum :confused3 I will be traveling with DS 1 yrs & DD 2 yrs and would be interested in knowing if this age requirement is true?

My DD was 18 mths old when we last rode it-no age requirement.

One suggestion I have...go into the Space pavilion and let your kids play on the little playground there. While the adults went on the "big rides" my kids (ages 4 and 3 at the time) had a blast :woohoo:

don't forget the ride in Mexico too and taking them to the living seas to see the fish. There is a lot to do in EPCOT for little ones. Probably more there than MGM.

Our DD was on Maelstrom at 13 months old a few years ago! :thumbsup2

Remember, there are kidstops, too - most little kids like to colour - even if it is just "scribbles" like our DD on our last visit! :teeth: The kids seem to love these! :goodvibes

Yes, the kidstops are great! The one at Test Track kept my DD2 very happy while we rode with my DD5...I thought it was brilliant of Grandma to find it for her.

Also in the living seas is Turtle Talk with Crush, In the Land they can make cookies with nestle, and watch the show Circle of Life, In Immagination their is also Imageworks with all the fun things for little ones like sound pictures and orchestrating, Innovations also has many fun activities.

I'm so happy to hear this! You can see from my ticker that we're going to take our turning-two year old on a birthday trip in September '08. I love Maelstrom and it'll be really neat to take our kid on!! :figment:

When our little ones were younger, we saved Epcot for later in the trip (maybe 3rd or 4th day). By thent he kids were tired out a bit and ready to sit back and relax inthe strollers while we strolled through all the countries. DH & I love the World Showcase! And the kids do enjoy it, too.

Others have answered, yes they can ride the rides that don't have height restrictions. There's plenty of other fun things for little ones...

Here are a few things that come to mind:

Coloring the masks at the Kidcot stations
Mexico - boat ride and market (instruments, pinatas, sombreros)
England - Winnie the Pooh & friends at times, a hedge maze that the little ones love to run through, toy store
Germany - toy train display, toy store
Japan - candy making demonstration, toy store, select an oyster to find a pearl
Outpost - drums for the kids to play and wood carvers to watch
Norway - a large viking ship to climb on
Italy - harlequin type mimes

The kids do enjoy it! Have fun!

Lots of good responses so far so I will just say "what they said".

However we love Epcot, there is fun things for both kids and adults and just strolling around and relaxing is great. Last time we went into France to see the movie (less then 30 min.) It is a great sit down movie with beatiful music and senary. My kids loved it (rather like baby enstine) and both feel alseep (4 years old and 17 months old. We then depostied them in the stroller and had the best afternoon of the trip. We strolled around, sat on a bench and rested, listened to music. The kids were well rested after and we ate at Canda and had a wonderful time.

We arive May 6th, but only stay at WDW until May 9th, then head over to vero beach.

Epcot has the flower and garden festivil in May. Last year they had a number of other atractions specail that were great for kids. Garden playgrounds, buterfly exhibts, Climbers etc.... It was great.

I agree with sking Engery adventrue. very long and you can get "stuck in it" especailly if a child gets upset. Mexico is great, ride it a few times in a row, never a line. Check out the toy train set in Germany. Wacth performers around WS, lots of fun. We have taken a 7 month old child on Melstom.

Your older child with love pressed pennies. I haven't done the passport yet, but plan to later. My 5 year old says her favorite at epcot is Figment, but we all think it is pretty lame :rolleyes1 She likes the play area after. Even if you don't do HISA (we don't, DD doesn't want to, it can be scary,) make sure to visit the jumping water.

Have a great trip!

Have a great time. Look for the cute brown haired kids in the double peg pergo stroller, that will be us!

:teeth:

My boys were just under 5 and 2 on our last trip, and we also went the year before that, and Epcot is the 5-yo's favorite park. They liked all the rides we did, we didn't do the Universe of Energy or Honey I Shrunk the Audience. The 5-yo was a little scared of Maelstrom, but I think it was when the boat turned around backwards that got him. DH and I didn't think it was scary at all and I wouldn't hesitate to take a child on it for safety reasons.

They like to go through the different countries, find the characters, and eat the food, lol. The interactive fountains are a huge hit with them too.

As a Disney World addict, we took our youngest DD at 8 weeks old for the first time!! It was great! Very easy. She rode most rides with us. We stayed at Beach Club, so my 3yr old daughter didn't mind hanging at the hotel pool each afternoon while the baby slept. I never felt held back by having a baby! We came home with many great memories!! Good luck and have fun!!

THANKS THANKS THANKS!!!!

I just booked dinner with the princesses on our last night of the trip there at Epcot. It is actually the same day my DD turns 3 and I'm so excited!
