I was a big fan of O&A at one time too. When they were on terrestrial radio before the whole Sam Adams incident I can honestly say I liked them better then Stern. The whiffle ball bat challenge, their infamous L couch, 55 gallon drum challenge, etc. They were all fantastic bits, but after their hiatus, when they came back they weren't the same. I figured being on satellite it would open new doors of opportunity for them, but they never banked on it. They couldn't get any guests and there bits were/are non existent. Even the few guests that were friends of the show disappeared (Lewis Black, Jim Breur, etc). I tried to hang in there when they went to XM, I listened to them all the time. The only thing that keeps me tuned in now is Lil Jimmy. And even then as soon as I hear something stupid come out of Opies mouth I change the channel.
RIP - Tippy Tom & Bennington Whatley 2012
And as far as Howard and the crew revisiting the events of the past 2 weeks come Monday morning, its the last thing I want to hear at this point. I am tired of hearing about all the depressing death's. I rather they come back and talk about their vacations and whatever mess Artie got into during this break. Don't get me wrong, my heart goes out to the families of everyone who has passed away these last couple of weeks, but its time to move on. Hearing about how much coffee Robin is able to "hold" is what I need now after 2 weeks of depressing radio and TV.
