Stern Rules... Baba Booey....

Any Howard Stern / Disney fans? odd combination... but I fall into that category.

Hey, I see it's your 1st post, welcome.

Love the name, haven't heard that in awhile (since he went to satellite).

Used to listen all the time until he went to satellite radio. I only have a short ride to work and cannot listen in work so I did not bother getting Sirius radio. Really miss listening to all those guys.

I did see Arte Lange on the Joe Buck show a couple of weeks ago. That was funny.

Since this topic isn't about theme park planning, I've moved it to the Community Board. :)

Opie & Anthony and Ron & Fez fan here. Stern's show just doesn't do it for me. I like a radio show that doesn't take 4 months off a year and makes me laugh.

HooHoo just doesn't make me laugh.

Love Howard Stern....

as for time off.... ok, he happens to be out now, but he doesn't take any more time off then any other radio personalities. Except Friday, he somehow incorporated the 4 day Johnny Carson inspired work week. But his Friday - Best of the week - gives the part time listeners (who can't listen at work) a time to catch up on what they missed.

O&A are mere copy cats, and waanabe's.

I am a huuuuuuuuugggggeeeeeeeeeeeee Stern fan, but the show is on vacation about 4 months out of the year (not including weekends). What other radio personalities have that kind of time off?

And why does he always seem to go on vacation in the middle of some kind of media blitz. The last thing I want to hear is more about celebrity deaths.

I have been listening for years & years. Huge Stern fan, I listen to the on way to & from work & I have gotten some weird looks because sometimes I'm laughing so hard !!! :woohoo:

I have a stiletto. I can record up to six hours of one channel, any channel, at one time. and the onboard memory (of my old model) will hold about 20 recordings of that length. Maybe more. so while he is away I am listening to my own version of the best of...

Plus, after about 20-30 years in a career you get a lot of vacation time built up.

I just heard the chloris leachman interview!

I sure hope he stays a few more years after the contract. I prefer my own music instead of hoping the radio will play what I like... I might not keep satelite once he is gone.

He does not take 4 months... He takes 6 weeks a year (plus Fridays), that is what is in his contract.

As for vacationing during a media blitz... I to would love to hear his take on MJ's death, etc... but some things are unexpected. His vacation (and replay of the History Volume II) was planned - and promoted for a month prior to it's commencement. MJ's death was sudden and happened to fall just as HS and the lovely Beth O were boarding a plane to who know's where (probably the Hampton's).

I am also a huuuuuuuuuuuuggggggge Stern Fan, and would love his take, but will patiently wait until Monday Morning.

Dr. Remulak..... nice call - I believe that turned out to be a buddy of Stu-Stuu-Stuuuttteerrring J-J-Jo-John....

HUGE Stern Fan! With the replays, its always on in my car, unless Im with my kids...
Just got the Artie Lang book "Too Fat to Fish" among others for a road trip coming up!

Wow, so I'm not the only one... :)

I read "Too Fat to Fish" as well, awesome book. Artie is one messed up SOB.

I saw Artie last November, also saw The Killers of Comedy with Beetle. Great to see the crew live.

QFT! Ron & Fez noon (11) to 3!! Fruuuunkiss!

Another Stern/Disney fan here. I got Sirius a month before he came on (I listened to him for years on BCN in Boston, but then moved to an area where he wasn't broadcast).

I hope there are no guests scheduled for Monday so we can hear their take on all the recent events.

LOVE Howard and the gang! I have been listening for years. I'm glad to see other Disney fans love the show too! :goofy:

I was a big fan of O&A at one time too. When they were on terrestrial radio before the whole Sam Adams incident I can honestly say I liked them better then Stern. The whiffle ball bat challenge, their infamous L couch, 55 gallon drum challenge, etc. They were all fantastic bits, but after their hiatus, when they came back they weren't the same. I figured being on satellite it would open new doors of opportunity for them, but they never banked on it. They couldn't get any guests and there bits were/are non existent. Even the few guests that were friends of the show disappeared (Lewis Black, Jim Breur, etc). I tried to hang in there when they went to XM, I listened to them all the time. The only thing that keeps me tuned in now is Lil Jimmy. And even then as soon as I hear something stupid come out of Opies mouth I change the channel.

RIP - Tippy Tom & Bennington Whatley 2012 :thumbsup2

And as far as Howard and the crew revisiting the events of the past 2 weeks come Monday morning, its the last thing I want to hear at this point. I am tired of hearing about all the depressing death's. I rather they come back and talk about their vacations and whatever mess Artie got into during this break. Don't get me wrong, my heart goes out to the families of everyone who has passed away these last couple of weeks, but its time to move on. Hearing about how much coffee Robin is able to "hold" is what I need now after 2 weeks of depressing radio and TV. :goodvibes
