BA sale now on

So true, it helps to know someone's routing for you in the wings :-)

Well you've done everything right and that you can do.

You know what though worst case scenario, you are still all booked up to go! YAY! :cool1:

Fingers crossed for you.

I think in myself, knowing how I was starting to feel the panic of "Am I going to cancel if I dice with this too long?" it was time to book. I very nearly just went for it on Sunday because I had a headache from constant searching and checking and it was weighing down on me.

Just wanted to offer a word of caution to any of you who search through Kayak: BA flights for some dates are coming up cheaper there on Expedia and other sites. If you have young teens, don't click the 12-17 years youth option of you are looking at BA flights, where the airline regards 12 years as an adult (some other carriers do offer a youth fare and others categorize a child as under 14). I noticed that when i did that it redirected me and quoted me for a child fare despite that I entered her as older so the fare quoted was actually incorrect. I went back and put in 2 adults instead and it worked fine that way

Got up early this morning and rang BA. Customer service agent was extremely helpful. After discussing the Price Promise submission he stated that according to the screen shot everything looks perfect and there is no reason why BA should decline it. However when asking more specific questions he very diplomatically let on that there is a general practice of finding some hidden way to decline the request. On that basis I cancelled for a full refund.

I then (using another credit card :lmao:) booked the same flights on AA for £100 less :cool1: now it's the nail biting wait for AA to send confirmation of my booking and eticket. Once that is in I'm a happy bunny and can relax and forget about this flight malarky for another year :rotfl:

Can you not find any of the £1648 to work for you?
Presuming you are going to MCO or TPA of course. :)

No, I can find outbound to Orlando if I fly the day before I planned, or outbound to Tampa, but seems the return leg is proving problematic for both - which is odd as I'm looking to fly out at Halloween so expected the outbound to be the problem.

Will ponder. And also wait for Virgin's sale ;)

Actually, while there's no announcement yet, it does look like Virgin have, or are in the process of loading sale fares too. Looks a bit more promising.

So yeah, if flights aren't working out for you at BA (or you just generally prefer flying with Virgin) then it's worth heading over there for a peek too now.

I hope you find something suitable :goodvibes This won't be any good to you if you are not booking/havent' booked a Disney onsite reservation, but I rang them last night to see out of interest what a flight inclusive package would come out at and the agent checked and it came up at a little less than the BA sale price I found online. She also mentioned that she had changed a few room and ticket packages to flight inclusive yesterday afternoon as some guests were telling her that the flight inc she was quoting worked out cheaper than them adding the flights themselves separately. It didn't make any difference for my dates, albeit slightly better than doing a DIY package, but she mentioned that 2 guests had called in the afternoon and were delighted to get flights through WDTC for just under £500. It may be worth a look for anyone still stuck and uncertain about prices

Awww, thanks :goodvibes

DVC here though so the packages don't really work out for us.

Feeling a bit more optimistic though now I'm seeing the Virgin availability so will talk with him indoors tonight and hopefully book something up by the weekend latest *crosses fingers*

Then it's time to stalk the exchange rate hourly start planning in earnest!

when will my flights be released if booking through WDW? As you know doing 5 nights POFQ 30th Nov and either side depending on getting in WLV at 11 months. Are the flights available sooner to Wdw like other tour operators.

No, it seems not. I am sure they used to be because in 2009 I booked flights in April for the following October with them. But when I had a look a few weeks ago for the dates I was looking at it said only 330 days from return date. I guess that puts your opening date to book somewhere in December

Glad you got sorted in the end. Presuming AA is a codeshare with BA? Or totally different flights? Did you get your etickets?

Flights are a real pain. I love to book them but I also love to get this best deals which can be painful lol.

I hope you bagged the flights with Virgin :)

Glad I'm not the only one that stalk the rates lol. I refresh BBC Market data about 20 times a day :rolleyes1

Nemmie, they are exactly the same BA flights which I canceled (yes, a codeshare), same flight numbers, times, etc. Only so-called drawback is that I can't do OLCI and can only select seats at check in, but honestly, we only bother to choose our seats on the longhaul outbound and where we sit was not worth £100 to me. eTickets eventually got sorted yesterday afternoon, after 4 calls to AA and 3 calls to my credit card provider. No idea what happened as everything looked fine on their end but AA sorted it out for me over the phone and the confirmation came through immediately. They have been a pleasure to deal with :)

Fabulous :thumbsup2

I would of saved the £200 too and honestly we fly with BA all the time and never have any issue sitting together etc. If you don't care where you are sat on the plane it really makes no difference at all like you said.

I bet you feel so much better now it's all booked and ticketed.

Tried looking at AA flights and they where dearer than BA for the same flight.

We got April flights to JFK for next April at £100 off per flight. Pretty pleased with that!

It was bizarre. They have been more expensive all along except briefly the other morning. I was fretting because the website said the price is not guaranteed until it is ticketed and when I checked a few hours later they were more than the BA ones I had canceled

£100 discount always gets a smile. Well done :thumbsup2 Who are you flying with?

I don't know quite how or why but I was looking at flights for October and the inbound flight on 8th November is cheaper in PE than it is in Economy :confused3

I had the same thing when I bought February flights. When I looked again a few days later the PE was the same cost but the economy had gone down.
