B&W version of Lady and the Tramp 2 on VHS

I have Lady and the Tramp 2 (2001) on VHS that is entirely in black and white, from the trailers to the end. When I bought it in 2001 on the day of release, I popped it into the VCR to play it for my 3 little ones. They were not impressed because of the lack of color and soon lost interest. I watched it to the end alone. That was the only time I played the video all the way through. I had showed the intro to my sister because I thought it odd and she told me her copy was in color. I have tried to find out if this defect is common and have been unsuccessful. I think it may possibly be a one of a kind item. Anyone have any information about this or know how it may have happened in production to make its way to distribution? Anyone care to estimate what it would be worth?
