B Resort or Best Western at Disney Springs

does anyone know when the construction at BW is supposed to be complete?

Phase I ~ I believe they are putting the pilings in now for the new tower. It's building permit runs to March 2021. Not sure the plan on when they will begin the full renovation of the old tower but it's considered Phase II. I think the entire pool area will be done, right now there is just excavation going on which likely relates to new tower, as part of Phase I. Phase III will be meeting facilities built on other side of original tower.

Another vote for BW. Ive never stayed at B, but have seen it, while sitting on my BW balcony, across the street.....right next to the highway! No thanks.

BW rooms are very spacious. They have 2 vanity areas, one inside the bathroom, the other just outside.

They have 2 gift shops, 1 Disney w/ Disney CM for all your Disney needs, the other is FL gifts. An arcade, great pool, wonderful staff, a full service restaurant and a grab and go. I love BW, though I have never stayed there when going to a Disney park, so I dont know about their shuttles. I stay there before our "Disney" vacations to visit other Orlando attractions.

Mousesavers dot com has a deal for BW. Go to their website. Type Best Western in the search bar and click on the link to the BW website. You will get a great price and free parking. Keep in mind all rooms have balconies, so Im not sure why the $10ish for the "balcony" rooms. Im assuming its for a higher floor.

From my March 2017 trip report........

"Our off site stay was at Best Western Lake Buena Vista resort on Hotel Plaza Blvd. I had stayed there in the past for a night, when arriving to FL late and not wanting to pay Disney prices for 1/2 a day stay. We usually checked out the next morning and went straight to Disney. This time, it would be a 4 night stay since we were going to be visiting 3 off site theme parks.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Disney Springs and a 5 minute walk to many chain restaurants and souvenir shops. It offers a nice pool, which is very quiet during the day, shuttles to all the Disney theme parks plus 2 major shopping venues and Disney Springs, if you dont want to walk the 5 minutes. It also has a full service restaurant, a grab and go station, and an arcade. The room and bathroom sizes are larger than any on Disney property, including the deluxes. Its a very nice, clean place to stay and staff is top notch. It does not have any theme going on and definitely no Disney Vibe, but I know Ill be staying there in the future when visiting places outside of the "bubble". There are many many families who stay there for a week or more and utilize the frequent shuttles for their entire Disney stay. I met families from Europe and a family from Indiana who were there for 2 weeks! I suppose if you are staying in FL that long, it could be a tremendous savings. I also love the small size of the resort. Everything is conveniently located to your room, as is the parking lot, something I didnt appreciate enough until checking into the Yacht Club and having to walk quite a distance from the parking lot to the lobby, which is typical for most, if not all, Disney resorts. I paid $105/night, plus a $13 resort fee (free wifi) and $8/night for parking. Due to this being high season, it was slightly more than what I usually pay for the one night, in the $80's range. "

"........the hotel location is that it is located on the "quiet" side of the street. The hotels on the opposite side of Hotel Plaza Blvd are directly on top of Rte 535, a very busy road where traffic can be heard all day and night. B was directly across from our hotel. I also noticed BW Lake Buena Vista was the only hotel on the road that not only had balconies in all the rooms, but the only one with a table and chairs on the balconies. All others had may have had some balcony rooms, but no table/chairs. "

The new tower permits actually go through March 2021. Those permits are usually pretty close on target when they give a specific date. There will need to be further permits when they renovate the old tower and then again when they add the convention space.

To anyone interested on where it is at right now, this photo was posted today by bioreconstruct. The pilings are going in and we are far from going upwards on the tower.

Thank you for this.

We are booked right now at BW and I was okay with this choice, then B has this great special. I just thought B rooms looks better, cleaner and more up to date.
I am still kinda up in the air with the choice. Maybe I'll ask my husband to decide :rolleyes1:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Did you end up at the Best western in June? How was your stay? Just booked for June 2020, so i would love a review

Curious if anyone can compare the size of the room at BW - double queen beds with fridge/microwave, not Disney view - with Pop Century?

I had a stay booked for January with B Resort that I booked through one of the newsletters but really wanted to stay onsite. So when I called to cancel today the person actually told me they were happy I canceled it because it was the worst and they cant recommend it! I was shocked she was telling me that and she said they have to use it because they pay them a fee. So happy I was told this since its for our 40th anniversary trip and I want it to be special. Buyer Beware!
