B.J's vs. Costco

The meats are fresh and VERY good at Costco. They also have fresh seafood (crab legs, lobster). The bakery section around here is huge and very yummy. Can't beat their sheet cakes (proce or taste). I also get my contacts and glasses there too, much cheaper than anywhere else.

Is the meat in these stores fresh or frozen? Do you they regular sized boxes of things (cereal for exampe) or is everything in huge portions? Do they have delis?

Costco and BJ's
They have both fresh and frozen meats. Usually the cereal comes in larger boxes containing 2 large individual bag or boxes. These would be the size of the largest boxes at the grocery store.
BJ's has a deli, costoc does not. Both carry a wide variety of pre sliced meats and cheeses.
Costco does have a nice selection of made in store, ready to cook entrees, gourmet salads etc. Also as mentioned their bakery is very good. I just don't tend to buy any of those items so for me it isn't worth renewing our membership.

I hate Costco and they are all around here in CA. They are always so crowded and I hate to shop like that so I dont go there. I love BJ's, the aisles are much wider, nicer, cleaner and the best part for me is that BJ's will take manufacturers coupons where none of the other big box stores will take them. I love to go there with all my dollar and more coupons and get a good deal then use my coupons. I also like that I can check myself out at the BJ's which as of yet around here anyway, sams and costco dont do.

Oh yeah, bj's has a hotdog/drink combo too. I hate the hotdogs are costco, dont like the hotdogs with the crunchy skin on them and I just cant stand those "rolls" they put their hotdogs in....

If we're talking snack bars, I like sams club ice cream the best. Costcos has a funny after taste to it, but a lot of the ones around here have taken out the ice cream anyway.

Ok thats it, I'm shutting up now...

And oh yeah, I do think costco's birthday cakes are the best. I've had them from all 3 and costcos is the best by far I think.

I also prefer the hot dogs or sausage dogs at BJs. The buns at costco always seem chewy to me.

Costco for me. I had a BJ's membership one year and never renewed. They didn't have as much selection as Costco.

I belong to Costco, BJ's & Sams. BJ's is on the bottom of my list. I don't like their meats or fresh foods. Never look good to me and the store is not as clean as Costco. I only buy dry goods there.
