On the Disney world thead there is a thread dedicated to birthday cakes that can be ordered. Has anyone ever ordered one at any of th DL hotels? I told my DD who will be turning 13 that I am sure I will be order to order a cake. I know at most places if you tell tem it is your birhtday they will bring out a cupcake or something little and I know all about the birthday buckets. If anyone has ever ordered a cake please let me know who I would contact.
Any pictures would be great also. I was hoping I could copy a picture off the other thread and maybe fax it to DL bakery(if there is one) and they could make simmilar. I want an amazing cake for her and afterall she is turning into a big teen:hippie:

I started a cake thread here for DL. I still need to post pics from dd 2nd birthday cake which was WAY more gorgeous and bigger than expected. You can order from dlh, or gch. I ordered from grand. Call the resort tell them you want to order a cake, and ask to speak to the pastery chef since they make sure she can do it anyway, and she is GOOD. They can bring to the resort hotels dining venues, but not inside the parks.

Please post the pictures soon:love:
How do you explain what the cake should like like?

I simply said I would like something like a stand up doll cake in a exact replica of cinderella. She said she thought that woupd be a cuter idea also versus a sheet or round. My god it turned out to be 8 yes 8 layers of choco cake with buttercrem lightly done in the middle, buttercream on the outside just enough to hold to the fondant which was done to the last dress detail of cindy. The doll was a real cinderella doll they got for her which the dress was made around her, so they gave us the clothes she came with.

How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Pictures please!!!!

We will be at the Grand Californian for my dd's 13th birthday and I would love to see what they are able to do there.

This may sound odd, but we're doing a brunch at the lilo and stitch breakfast, we're not visiting the parks, but we are going to do a character brunch for a birthday. would they let us order the cake to go lol? I couldn't find anything about that online. It is for 2 people and one of them is CRAZY about snow white.

A few years ago, we had a b-day dinner in Epcot, with a very nice chocolate birthday cake. Last week we had a b-day dinner at Ariel's Grotto in DCA with a birthday bucket, which is topped with a tasteless little cake with mickey's picture on it. The bucket itself is nice, and comes with a nice birthday pin.

Make sure you get an "it's my birthday" pin from your hotel in the morning. Get birthday wished all day long.
