I'm considering doing a solo trip just before the US imposes the double vax restrictions to get a Pfizer booster in Orlando. I won't be quite six months from my last vax. Is this feasible? Has anyone done this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! We have a family trip planned in December.

Have you talked to your family doctor to get it here so it’s on your provincial record?

Here in BC you just upload it, they aren't concerned about dates etc. I had two friends do this recently. A tip was to tell them it is your first dose when you get it just in case you are not eligible in orlando for third. I am planning to do this in california in 2 weeks.

Your mRNA that you received will be considered a first dose. So I believe you can get a second mRNA to “complete” your vaccination schedule. That is my understanding.

that's what I understand (will confirm on Oct 25 if all goes well).

I saw a vaccination clinic right in MCO and others here have reported being allowed to get a shot (being in AB, I already have my 3rd/booster/full Pf compliment - whatever you want to call it so I didn't access the shot while in Orlando). My concern was how to get it recorded but if others say that it's not a big deal I wouldn't hesitate.

Did you get a third shot at MCO? What did they put on your CDC card?

I don't believe @ellbell did end up getting the shot there.

I have heard mixed things, some will put the information from your first Pfizer and the one they give you on the CDC card, others just give the information on the one they are giving you. Either way, depending where you live in Canada you should be able to enter this information to the province and have it added to your record there.

I will be doing this on Oct 25 at MCO (going to Disney, and this will let me go on future trips without waiting for CDC to approve or acknowledge mixed doses). Since you are there now, my information will be too late for you.

I did noy end up getting the shot. I asked when we got into Orlando and at the time intended to get it as we were leaving but in the end I didn't get it because our flight kept getting delayed and I didn't want to risk flying while feeling unwell or possibly showing symtoms that coyld be mistaken for covid.
