Hello everyone!

We're starting to plan our next trip, and I see that the Ayres is still #1 on TripAdvisor, and also seems very reasonable price-wise. Has anyone stayed here? What did you think? How is the location and distance to DL? It will be myself and a 15 year old girl, so no problems with small kids traveling back and forth.

From what I've heard, it seems to be very nice (which I guess is no surprise given its TripAdvisor rating). However, personally I would never stay there because there are so many decently priced options within walking distance. I'm the type of person that can't be bothered with shuttles or driving, and like to be able to come and go when I please.

I believe Ayres is on the ART route, so if you're happy to use that, or have your own car and are planning to drive, go for it!

Thanks for the feedvack. We have previously stayed at the Hojo and PP, so I have to admit I don't want a long trip each time. We don't mind the ART bus, but don't want to be on it forever each day.About how far away is the hotel, and has anybody stayed there?

We stayed there last fall and it was perfectly fine, however I would not stay there again. It was way too far from the parks! If say it was a 10-15 minute drive which was complicated by road construction and one night there was an event at the Honda center which meant we sat in horrible traffic for half an hour just trying to get back to the hotel.
It's in a great location if you're going to the honda center, just across the street. For the parks, stick to something closer! We are staying at HOJOs this time and in thrilled we won't have to deal with driving and parking and then tram/walk to the esplanade.

According to the Ayres Hotel website, it is 2 miles from DL, straight down Katella. We've driven past it and it's right across from Honda Center so when there's an event there I would imagine traffic could be a headache. Our personal preference is to stay close to DL, preferably walking distance.
