Ayone here ever attend a "coupon class"?

I found out about one on Facebook and decided to sign up, just to see what the teacher has to say.

Anyone been to one? Did you learn anything?

(I don't expect to learn much. I have been a couponer for years, but am not super hard core about it.)

I've never been to one, but it does sound interesting.

If it is free it would be nice to see what that couponer does that you do not. I am an avid couponer. I teach classes and I will attend anyone else who offers one for free or VERY cheap. Everyone who shares usually has a few tips you may not have thought of. All information is good.

There was a free seminar one night at my MoMs club meeting, and I was all cocky like "I've been couponing for a dozen years, I know how to do this" and I did learn a few things!

If it's free or nominally priced, it's worth going.

My sister went to one taught by a woman who was on extreme couponing. She said it was very informative and she learned some interesting things about coupons. For example, the woman coupons to get free items that she then donates as a tax write off to fully cover her and her husband's taxes!

I went to one a couple of years ago as research for an article I was writing. (My boss paid for it). I was glad I didn't pay because everything that was taught can be learned online or out of library books for free.

If it's free, it might be fun, but I'd never pay for something like that.

I paid $10 for it.

The only thing that I got was a brushup on the Rite Aid deals.

She didn't mention Catalina's at all. And barely mentioned blinkies. Didn't mention to make sure not to scan your debit card until all of your coupons have been scanned - just in case the cashier forgets. And didn't mention other things. She seemed to be kind of pushing her new Facebook page and the fact that she sells "her time" if you need a specific coupon.

I was disappointed in it. Then again, I didn't expect to learn much. I have been couponing for years - I was the first one in my city to carry a binder years ago.

I still coupon now - just not as much. No binder anymore.

My sister and I went to a Jill Cataldo workshop last year. It was great and very informative. Jill teaches how a normal person can save a ton of money with coupons without having to put in 40+ hours a week into it like some of the crazies on TLC do. She does most of her seminars in the Illinois/ Indiana area, so if you live in the area, I highly recommend checking her out!

Jill Cataldo also writes a couponing column that's carried by the Orlando Sentinel on Sundays. It's very informative and she's very big on ethical couponing.
