Anyone stayed here? What are your thoughts?

How was the breakfast? Within walking distance? How was the pool?

Thanks!

It has been several years since we stayed there, so some things may have changed.

Breakfast. As I remember, it was very good. It was a full breakfast, and not just rolls and juice

Walking distance. This I am sure has not changed since we were there, unless they picked it up and moved it :) it is not within walking distance. It was at least 2-3 miles away and on very busy roads.

Pool. It was OK, but nothing to write home about. We are just too spoiled by the themed pools in WDW :)

Thanks so much!

Looks like we can get a fantastic rate for our trip in June, I'm kinda leaning in the direction of booking there. I'm thinking we will want to take cool off breaks for the kids.

Would love to hear more thoughts!

Bumping, hoping for some more opinions.

In doing research it appears there are 2 Ayers. This is the Ayers Inn Orange. It get's great reviews on trip advisor. It's 2 miles away but has a dedicated shuttle so that's cool and has a full breakfast.

I'm really wanting to book but the deal seems too good to be true.

Please, more opinions...

If you want a motel/hotel that you can take breaks in, this doesn't sound like it. Unless you are within walking distance or the hotel has a reliable shuttle, it can be a pain going back and forth. Check out "Hydroguys" stickies at the top of the page. There a re tons of hotels on harbor that are easy to "run" back and forth to. Some have good deals too.

We stayed in the Ayers Anaheim which is on Katella about 2 miles down the road from DLR. This was a few years ago when it was new and we loved it. I would highly recommend it. We always take mid day breaks and it was a 5 min drive (we always rent a car). It is definitely not walking distance. This hotel is also now rated #1 in Anaheim on Tripadvisor now and I'm not surprised.

If it is the Ayers Orange you are looking at it is an older property than the Anaheim one, and farther away. I haven't stayed there, but I think all Ayers hotels have high quality. People often get the 2 confused.

Breakfast was great, the rooms are lovely (very Euro-boutique hotel feel), with microwave, fridge, coffee maker, etc. There was also a laundry right down the hall. The pool is nothing special but kids will think it is fine.

I know that it scores high on Tripadvisor, but for us, I think we are going with something within walking distance, because it has worked so well for us in the past! We stay at the Fairfield Inn, it's close enough to walk back and forth, if you need a break like I do, I'm an early riser, and like to be able to go back and take a mid day nap/break. They are reasonably priced for Disneyland, especially if you can get an advance purchase rate or maybe use a discount code or something...they often has the "get 4th night free" deal, and there is a McD's in front of it, and in between it and Howard Johnsons, there is a great restaurant called Mimi's! Speaking of HJ's, sometimes you can get a $59 entertainment rate, look into it! I've also been looking at the Park Vue Inn, which apparently is also highly rated on Trip Advisor, and has a complimentary breakfast and evening snack, as well as a welcome basket and other perks, especially the fact that it's right across the street from the entrance!! ;) Good luck with your decision!!

We enjoyed the Ayers very much, but nana50 makes a very good point. They may have changed, but when we stayed there, the shuttle only ran certain times of the day (morning & evening) and it was not possible to just come home from park midday. Plus, the shuttle definitely took awhile mainly because it would sit and wait for more people to come and ride it.

If you go first thing in AM and stay all day, it worked fine.
