13th Feb - Cheyenne. 14th -16th Feb - Sequoia Lodge.
well that went fast :scared1:!

we stayed at the cheyenne on wednesday 13th Feb.
highs so far:
We're back to DLP for the first time since 2010 :thumbsup2

Our entire journey from home to dlp was practically effortless it was so smooth. no mean feat considering dd 19, isn't very mobile and transferring from w/chair to plane, taxi etc can be cumbersome at times. thankfully public services between dublin and paris seem to be becoming more used to those with sp. needs :thumbsup2

lows so far:
having stayed in a recently refurbed room back in 2010, i can see the toll 3 years of continuous use has had on our fav hotel :-(.
2 lights didn't work in the room.
the carpet wasn't very clean.
there was no bin, anywhere!
the phone didn't work at all so no wake up call for our first morning :confused3
the pillows (1 each) were just dire, soo uncomfortable we all had aches the next morning.
there was a comment card still on the table which the previous occupants had filled in and stated everything that i just did on it!

we left the cheyenne to start our disney package at the SL for the next 2 nights.

highs.
:banana:EVERYTHING
I had requested a standard room but near to the hotel services.
the day before we left CR rang me to say there was a petite problem with my booking and they had to move me to the main building but they felt this was more suited so I was dying to get there to see what they'd given us!
we were given two connecting rooms, 2277 & 2279 in the north wing of the main building. just up the corridor from where the characters have their meet and greet in the mornings so no stairs or lifts! they looked brand spanking new, beautifully decorated in the bambi theme (i want it for my room). myself and dd had a double bed each in 2279 and my mam and ds had the single and a bunk each next door. super comfy!

our 3 days in the park flew by. everything was just fab.
love love love dreams!
dd loved the princess pavillion and we were allowed to ask for Ariel and snow white rather than just meet whoever was next.

over all lows:
the poor ol cheyenne needs revamping, again.
it bucketed rain on valentines day.
paper / styrofoam cups and bowls in plaza gardens for breakfast :confused3?
we had to leave.......

I'll get my tr done by weekend (hopefully)

thanks for reading :thumbsup2

Welcome home, glad you enjoyed most of your trip:thumbsup2

Welcome back! I havn't done a highs or lows this time but mine would be similar to yours - the cheyenne was pretty awful (never stayed there before) and we also got soaked/frozen on Valentines day - disheartening to wait for ages for a character to arrive, they arrive late, then the prince comes in and they don't meet the public. Would love to see your TR!

Those adapted rooms at SL are great, we stayed there for the first time last year in one of those rooms as our little boy is disabled, really nice to have double the size room and lots of sleeping capacity.

Welcome back!
we're staying in Cheyenne on our first night and the moving to SL too :goodvibes

Welcome back and glad you had three great days. :cool1:

It's not looking so good for the Cheyenne though. We're staying there next month and our last four trips have been at either the NBC or SL so I am growing increasingly worried now. I've looked at up-grading but we got such a great price for the Cheyenne that I can't find anything remotely close.

Glad your good luck at the SL made up for the shabby start to the holiday. :goodvibes

That's a pity about the Cheyenne, from everything I've read it sounds nice (and nicely themed), but from your description it seems there's a lot to improve on...! (I'm staying there next month so will see how bad it is...)

SL sounds great though! And Dreams too... :) Sounds like a great trip overall (despite the Cheyenne)!

Thanks for the welcome homes :goodvibes I just realised that this time last week we had just checked in at dublin airport heading out to Dlp :guilty:

Ah we'll we've already decided to go back for dd's 3 rd birthday next May (2014).

Yep we were disappointed with the Cheyenne too as we stayed there Christmas 2010 and decided it was def our favourite hotel. It's not terrible by any means, just needs some tlc that's all. We were in Annie Oakly on the ground floor.

I would stay there again but tbh the rooms we had in the SL far exceeded the Cheyenne.

Ohhhhh I wish we were still there :worship:

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighhhhhhhh
:lmao:

Glad you had a good trip. We've just got back and had good rooms at Cheyenne. I think it may be hit and miss there now. I'm sure it will be on the cards for a refurb in the next few years. In the meantime I hope it continues to be a cheap option!:coffee:

I wouldn't worry we have stayed there three times and only had a bad experience once.

I think if you've got a great price and are going with an open mind not expecting too much then I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. The best holidays happen that way x
