AWS is down.

This is absolutely the weirdest comment. Like were you making it a competition between countries yet again? So odd.
Nope no competition, thats what YOU wanted to read from my words. California is 8 hours behind Ireland, so just stating facts. My friends in California were only starting their day as 7.30pm in Ireland was 11.30am in LA.

hmm, wondering are you one of my circle of "friends" from morans as you like to take offence when there is non implied :scratchin:wave:

We all know what your comment meant ;) You weren't just stating facts, you are wrong anyhow as the first reported outage was just after 3am eastern. If you wanted to describe what your friends in the U.S. were experiencing you would have just stated that like you easily did in the above comment. Instead you opened your comment with a "Annnd America wakes up, lol... Its 7.30pm here in Ireland and the AWS started about 9.00am Irish time, so its been ongoing for the last 10 hours." which was like the weirdest but most obvious jab.

As far as offense, nuance here should be employed. If someone responds to your comment, like me ,saying it was the weirdest/oddest, etc comment that doesn't me someone, or like me, is offended at your comment. It straight to the points just means it had zero reason to be said unless you're trying to make it something with the U.S. vs your country which is what you do.

Yeah I'm going to still stick with it's an odd way, and even odder now with your explanation, way of saying your time zone is at X time. For that matter outages don't affect people all at the same time, someone having an issue early on may not later one just when someone else is starting to experience issues. Often is the case.

It seems like things are getting back to normal. I had to log back on to work to finish something up, and it was functional.

Yes, we do. She was just gently teasing Americans who didn't notice the outage until we woke up hours after people in other countries were aware of it. Nothing to get offended by!

I remember one time when I was visiting friends on the East Coast for a few weeks, but I was also still working part time. I could sleep in and start working in the late morning and send emails to my colleagues back in California razzing them about why weren't they at work yet, the day is half over! 🤣 It was a nice reversal for someone who was never at work by 8:00 a.m. herself. 😁

Which was 8:00 a.m. in Ireland, so it's entirely plausible that it took about an hour for people there to start noticing it. It's not like the problem was going to immediately become obvious at 8:01.
