just got home from target with $200 disney GC for 180!!! so proud of myself I was able to do this--however I was rather nervous since I bought a christmas gift plus the gift card --usually I have it rung up separtly in case the gift needs to go back--but the store was busy and I didnt want to hold up the line---but late last night I got worried that if the gift needed to be returned I wanted to make sure the person got back the whole amount not 20% less so I asked at the service desk and she rang up the gift and

great news the person would get back the whole amount plus it says on the reciept says that everything needed to be returned --( at least thats the way I took it)

then I was checking out I was holding my breath since the target GC says cannot be used on other pre paid GC

I had read here once that you can use target GC to buy DGC since the DGC rings up as entertainment

on my recpiet it says just disney--so why do they let you do it for disney but not the other GC---just wondering---

Bought my three Disney gift cards at Target this afternoon! No issues at all - I was worried they might not let me pay using the discounted Target gift card I bought yesterday.

Did anyone use a target gift card to buy a discounted target gift card in store?

I bought two $300 gift cards (cost $270) and paid 100% with target gift cards. These were both bought in store.

Ran around to both Targets in town yesterday and bought 12 300 gift cards at 270 each... and a couple more online (should have kept going between DVC dues coming up and a Cruise).

All are working.

Loaded into my Target Account to make life easier.

Then... bought $300 in disney gift cards... but it can get better. Add any other item and use your Target Card to pay for the balance... you will get another 5% off the entire order.

I'm just buying an additional $50.00 gift card with each purchase (limit 3 on the $100.00 per transaction). So, I'm getting $350.00 worth of gift cards for 302.50... each order.

Sure, I could do even better by just adding some small item I would use at home, but this is pretty painless and working great.

You don't have to add additional items to your order for the 5% REDCard discount to work. You DO need to add something else to your order if you're shopping through ebates and want to try to get another 2% cash back (it doesn't always work).

I tried doing it on just a gift card payment and it pulled out the 5% discount, only way I could get it to work as to make sure the total was a shade more than the gift card and put that difference on my Target Card, but then it rolled the discount across the board.

Wish I had bought more $300 gift cards! I have enough to finish paying my cruise (of which up until this point I was doing with 5% off target purchased disney gift cards) and some remaining to help pay my DVC dues!

Don't check the gift card option when you first arrive at the billing page. Check the credit card option and then click save & continue. This will take you to the "review & place order" page. The 5% REDCard discount should still be there. Now, look below your total. Underneath the red save and continue" button, there should be an option to "pay with a Target gift card" written in blue. Click on it and it will take you back to the billing screen where you can now check off the gift card option for payment. The 5% REDCard discount should remain.

Thank you for all the great info, I would have totally missed this. I now have 300.00 in Disney cards after getting the discount fromSunday and the 5% for having the red card. I would not have known how to do this w/o the great advice from this thread. I now have all my spending money for our April trip and the trip is paid in full yippee!

I received my order in the mail today. Monday I bought $350 worth of Disney gift cards and after applying the 5% and then a $5 left over from last years gift cards, I did OK. I bought more than $300 because I wanted
not to carry a small balance on the card and forget about it like I did last year.

Aaaaahhh! I was looking everywhere for that info that marionette posted....couldn't find it last night when placing a target order using my 10% gc......wahhh- I could have saved an extra 9.00 on my order! I got confused with the different gc threads and lost track...... No matter what I did I had the choice,use red card only and save 5% or use gc and lose that extra %....

but...thanks to this thread.... I did get 10% off 300 so that's something at east,which enabled me to purchase the item from target on sale last night....
