Hi All,
I see the interest in the gentleman who restored one of the coaches from the Fort Wilderness Train remains high. If you would like to learn about the train from someone who researched extensively and has written a definitive book on the train, go to www.steelwheelonsteelrail.com.
That's David Leaphart's website and will give you the details on how to obtain a copy. I got my over a month ago and couldn't put it down until I finished the book. And yes, David contacted the gentleman who is bringing his restored coach to the Fort in a few weeks and got his story. The book dispels many rumors about the train and includes many, many pictures, maps, diagrams, stories and interviews. It's just an awesome book. There's also a companion book which I haven't gotten yet, but it's suppose to be loaded with addition pictures and stories.
