Okay so here is my deal...we are flying Disney on 12/21 and staying through Christmas Eve when we go to my in-laws for the the night & Christmas Day...after that a few days to Cocoa Beach and back for 1 night with the inlaws, for my MIL's B-day...fly home on 12/30. We shipped a few of the SANTA top gifts to FL to my MIL's so that we will have them and I will get stoicking stuff down there. My son is 6~

On 12/19 (Sat) we are going to have my family and my husband's family over to exchange gifts with the kids, my parents and the aunt's / uncles. Here is my concern..we usually give our gifts to our son on Christmas morning...do we give them to him on the 19th or wait until we come back on the 30th? SANTA will be leaving gifts here for him for when he gets home, as I was not goig to bring/ship all to FL.

I guess I should add his whole list is either Star Wars or Lego's...I am concerned that he has been saving his allowance and will see something we got at Disney or Downtown Disney and want to get it since he will not know what we got...he knows enough to not want to buy somehting he put on SANTA's list...Any & All idea's please!:flower3:

When we did Disney on Christmas (and other places, we love to travel instead of lots of gifts) we would take a tiny amount for the actual day of Christmas when our kids were younger. But, we would do "Christmas" on one of the days before we left. Actually, if we did it in a morning the kids were happily playing with their new things so we could get a ton of packing and last minute things done!

Could you do your family Christmas on the 20th?

He's young enough that he won't question anything, so why not sit down with him and have him write a letter to Santa saying that you guys are going to be away for Christmas. Then one morning when he doesn't expect it he could wake up to find Santa had visited early. What a great surprise that would be!

I selected a few items to take with us to Disney for Santa to leave under our condo tree. Nothing very big or valuable. We're driving, so we also have room for the stockings and all the stuffers.

The rest of the stuff is hidden in the attic. We always have the kids stay in the car while we check the house when we get home, so Dad and I will have to make a quick trip to deposit the gifts under the "home" tree. I could have put the kids in the car and carried things down before we left, but there are a few valuables I'd just as soon not have sitting there should we have a break in. Should be a nice surprise for the one believer we have left.

We decided to have Christmas with the extended family after Christmas also.

Thanks for the advice. I wrapped all our gifts yesterday and noticed that the loot from us is a goof amount...I think he will be happy with all of it and then the few that arrive in FL and have the rest from SANTA when we return.
