Ok, so DS turns 6 on 11/18 and we decided to have pirates be the theme for the party. Got all the decorations, found someone to come as a pirate to the party, all sorts of neat stuff.

I sent out the invitations last week and asked people to respond via email. Lots of RSVPs and most of them say stuff like "Little Johnny can't wait to come and is SO looking forward to wearing his pirate costume!"

Oh crud. So far I have 8 RSVPs like this....and no pirate costume for the birthday boy. Don't get me wrong I think it is awesome all the these kids want to come in costume...it just would have been awesome if I had thought of it for DS oh say a few weeks ago!

I have looked all over the place online for pirate costumes and well, they suck. Even the one on the Disney Store site is cheesy.

What I would REALLY like to find is one of the Captain Hook costumes like they sell at WDW. Anyone have one for sale? Can I call WDW and order one by phone? If so anyone know which number?

Thanks in advance! Or maybe that should be thanks mateys! pirate:

you can most certainly call Disney and order one!! :sunny: the # i have for them is 1-407-824-2222 i think this is just a general number but i'm sure if you explained to them what you needed they would help you. good luck!

I believe this is the # to order merchandise from the parks:

(407) 363-6200

I think it's great that the boys are getting into dressing up for the pirate party! I hope you can get your little Hook all squared away.

Hmm looks like we posted at the exact same time - but different numbers. :rotfl:
Hopefully one of them will work for you OP

Thank you both SO much - you are truly life savers!

anytime! i hope everything works out ok! you should post some pix of all the little pirates running around your house when the party happens!

At one of my son's parties, we bought a small wicker "chest" and just filled it to the brim with candy. I also drew out a treasure puzzle/map all around the neighborhood,...that ended up, at our front door/where they started (DH put the chest out once we all left). It was such a hit, they still talk about that one, 4 years later.

Thank you all again for the help and suggestions. The party was Saturday and was so much fun. We were able to get costumes for DS6 and his little brother in time for the party.

DS6 wanted to be the pirate that looked like Jack Sparrow but got tired of the hat with the dread locks. DS4 wanted to be Captain Hook so it worked out well (one costume was MUCH bigger than the other even though they were supposed to be the same size) They had such a blast dressing up!

We found a pinata that looked like a pirate, filled it up with gold coins and the kiddos went nuts when it busted open and all the coins came out.

We also found a local theater group that has a "Pirate King" entertainer for hire. We had him come to the party and all the kids loved him. He did games, told stories and brought dress up items for any of the kids that did not come in costume. The funniest game was the pirate doing tug of war with all the kids.

Here are a few pictures, as promised. Thanks once again!!
