Avoiding I-4

What's the best way to get from Orange City to US/IOA and miss as much of I-4 as possible.

I know to take the 417 to WDW, but not sure about US/IOA.

You can take 417 to 408W to Kirkman Road...I don't know how much time you'd save...if any but you'd have to pay the tolls.

Excuse my possible ignorance of the local geography but I'm from Scotland!

We always take the route from WDW (DTD entrance) to Universal going North along SR535, Palm Parkway and Turkey Lake Road. It's quiet and fairly traffic free and runs parallel to I4 most of the way.

Agreed, 417 is not much of a time-saver to Universal--might even take longer, and costs at least $5. And the 408 might be the one road in Orlando worse than I-4.

To me 408 is worse then I-4 Will never use it again.

Orange City is the completely opposite direction from Disney...Orange City is out towards De Bary and Deltona. Your directions are correct from WDW to Universal but the OP is coming from opposite direction.

Thanks folks. I was hoping there was a better way. I really hate I-4. Oh well, at least I'll be heading to US/IOA and not to work.
