Someone here wrote about not having two separate holds placed on their CC for two 1-way rentals at the beginning and end of their trip. Does anyone remember this? We're renting two vehicles at the beginning and end of our vacation and if I could avoid a second hold on my CC, it would really help. Thanks

most credit card don't charge anything until you actual pick up the car. I always use a outdated card to hold the deposit. I only update the exp. date. I have never had a problem with holding a hotel room or a car rental :sunny:

I'm a little confused with the answers. It's not making the reservation that I'm referring to, it's when we actually rent the car and a certain amount (like $200 for Budget) is placed on hold while the vehicle is being used. Then once you turn the car in, they place the actual rental charges on the card and release the "hold" a couple of days later. I read on this board a post from someone who was doing two separate rentals (one at the beginning and one at the end of her trip) and she didn't want to have "two" holds placed on her CC (she wanted as much funds possible to be available during her trip). She called someone at the rental place who said that they wouldn't place two separate "holds" on her card. Anyone know anything about this?
