That is exactley what I was thinking. I could see if I was one of these hardcore meat eaters who needed it the perfect shade of pink but not too red, etc.

I just wanted it cooked well done. I even said if it is burnt that is fine. I had a feeling that the cook was totally incompetent or did it on purpose. My SIL seems to think it was a spite think because I sent it back. Either way, I just couldn't believe when it came back just as rare and I mean bleeding practically walking rare.

The atmosphere is awesome and the band was fun. They have a big bar. Go there for drinks and then go someplace else to eat.

I am not totally down on the place but I find it average at best....and I too have come across bad service here. The food has always been OK except the fish 'n' chips were a rip-off...very little of each and very generic. My wife loves the drunken chicken and we have had the scallop forest before and it was very good.

The one thing though that I would make a special trip here for is the bread & butter pudding for dessert.....my now favorite WDW dessert by far.....totally awesome.

I'm sorry you had a bad exerience at Raglan Road. We ate there last week for lunch at noon, and the food and service were both good. I guess a lot varies upon your server and cooks regardless of where/when you eat.

At noon, there was no entertainment. I think it would be fun to be there at night with the Irish band playing.

wow that's a shame.. I've heard so many good reports about it... I had really been looking forward to trying it....I love British pub fare, now I'm not sure meals at disney are a premium price so i hate when we get a bad meal, its like money wasted

DW and I had mixed opinions of our meals at RR last month. Full details are in my trip report (see link below), but her Fish and Chips were incredibly bland, and I agreed. The F&C at Rose and Crown or the chip shop outside it were far better. But my Heavenly Ham was incredible - and its easy to screw up ham.

Our waiter was terrific - even explaining his preferred way of preparing the bread & butter pudding to be eaten. Service was definitely not slow, but relaxed, and the atmosphere was great (coming from someone who hopes to win either MegaMillions or Powerball this weekend and open his own Irish Pub...)

We saw the Scallop Forest, and they didn't look small, but they also weren't sea scallop sized. We had already ordered the Drunk Chicken ourselves.

Despite the fish and chips, we would most certainly dine there again...and although we don't have an ADR in December for it, if we are still booked at SSR I can guarantee you can find me there once or twice...or more...

I assume you talked to the manager about the issues you encountered so he could try and make it right, yes? What did he say?

Sorry it was disappointing; we have had excellent meals there in both service and food. Most restaurants are hit and miss, esp at WDW. Our worst dining exp ever was at LeCellier of all places. It was horrible.

Oh no--we're eating there on the 28th at 9. I hope we get decent food since we'll be hungry (no earlier ADR's were available). I like rare steak at least--just wave it over a flame and I'm happy.

Just to share a contrasting opinion, my friend and I had lunch there a few months ago and thought everything was absolutely delicious.

Probably the later. Anyone who orders a steak well done in a restaurant is setting themselves up for disaster. The chef will use the very worst steak he has in the kitchen, just because he/she figures they are ruining it anyway so why use a good piece of meat? In your case it sounds as though you got one who instead of going that standard kitchen route just refused to ruin the steak (in his opinion).

You want it cooked to death they should cook it to death. It's too bad they wouldn't do it that way you wanted.

Regarding the well-done steak issue: I saw Chef Gordon Ramsey on one of his British reality shows when a customer asked for their steak to be cooked well-done. He had a fit and refused to do it. The customer wasn't happy, so he told her to leave if she didn't like it.

I'm looking forward to our visit in Dec.We'll most probably just have 3or4 appetizers between us a maybe a dessert or 2 and then concentrate on the entertainment and beer.

Well that's an issue with a poor waiter, not the whole restaurant. At that point I politely ask for a manager to come to the table, point out the issue, and get results. Even on the DDP you paid for the meal. I'm sorry you had a bad time, but it seems like you did nothing to help yourself while you were there, and you apparently were there for quite some time, but instead decided to complain here about the whole establishment? Am I missing something here? Like I said, I don't doubt this happened just as you said, I just don't understand why you wouldn't complain to someone who could do something about it?

Meal plan or not, I would have insisted on my food being prepared properly, or my money back/points back.

That's a little disturbing to me. I am pregnant and my doctor said that my steaks should be AT LEAST medium well. If I order something medium well or well (for pregnancy reasons) at WDW in September I will be extremely offended if the kitchen doesn't comply.

Happy to report that DH and I had a great meal at Raglan Road last night. I had the Sod the stew - absolutely awesome! With all I've heard about the bread and butter pudding, I had to try that as well. YUM! No one else in our party wanted to try, so I had it all to myself. Way too much for one person - I felt guilty leaving some behind!!! Service was great, although even with an ADR we waited about 25 minutes to be seated.

We have eaten here 3 times. The first 2 times were early in the evening, before the band was playing. Service and food were excellent. Had enjoyable chats with the manager when he came around. The last time we went we had ADR for 8:00-when the band starts. We waited for 45 minutes to be seated, were stuck in a back corner were we could not see the entertainment, had a grouchy server, the wrong food was brought to our table, when we got the food it was very bland and cold. We were there forever with a meal we did not enjoy. We decided to take a break from Raglan Road, it will be a while before we go back.
