Avis rental at Tampa Int'l

Can we use debit card? I do at home as that is card tied to my biz checking account. I have used Avis since 2009 but never out of State.
My regular CC is now maxed for resort stay and I am worried a debit card may not be able to be used out of State by different threads I looked at.

I'm not sure about Avis but I used to work for and know that enterprise/national/Alamo will use it if you show them your round trip plane ticket.

If you we're at an off airport location then yes most wont accept debit cards with an out of state license, but the airport is usually different. A lot of the rental companies have similar qualifications but don't hold me to that. I would call them

woohoo! yes they will since it is the card on my avis preferred account! so happy because i got a rental for $210 on thanksgiving week.

If you use the debit card, why not simply pay down the credit card with the same funds you'd use for the car and then charge the car to the credit card? You'd get the credit card cash back/bonus points/etc, have the rental on the credit card in case something happens (secondary insurance coverage, dispute resolution, separation from bank account in case of skimming), pays down the balance (even if temporarily)and make your card issuer happy you are using them.

Because the rental was paid in advance for a cheaper rate. We are good.
