Avis, pre-paid voucher & Avis Preferred

long time lurker, first post

finally going back again to the world again for the first time in 13 years (the kids are now finally old enough to enjoy and appreciate it) and i have a question or two with the car hire

i have booked car hire with avis (pre-booked and paid through air miles) and registered with avis preferred. as i have a pre-paid voucher do i still need to go to the counter with the pre-paid voucher or can i avoid it and just pick my car straight up. have heard stories of other people getting charged twice (though ultimately getting it refunded)

avis.com is showing my booking online (booking confirmation, model of car and included insurances etc) - when you sign up with avis preferred do they tie this in with any current rental bookings you have with

one other question - my wife wants to drive also - according to avis she is free as my spouse, can she just get in the car and drive or do we need to register her details
