Avis at MCO

Does anyone rent with Avis? What types of cars do they offer?

We always rent with National through the EI but have the opportunity to use Gift Certificates for Avis so we are thinking about changing and using them for our next trip.

Any thoughts good or bad on Avis vs. National?

I've used Avis twice on business trips. You do not pick your car, they assign it. Since I have a wizard card, I went straight to the garage and they had the paperwork ready at the booth. Both times I got a crappy Chevy Malibu/Classic as an intermediate. Since I was only there 2 days on business, I didn't ask for a change. The one I had last November was a pain to drive, the steering was tight and it had terrible acceleration. If you go to the counter, I would ask what they have available before they assign it. I always use National on vacation and liked them. This year my company has National as an option (they dropped Hertz), I might see if I can use them next time if the price isn't more.

I've never used them but there are some good discounts through the entertainment.com book for them. order one from my signature logo if you'd like. hope this helps

OK I will bite.... why is the Entertainment Book for sale allowed when nothing else is?

I have used Avis @ MCO numerous times with excellent results. As an Avis Preferred member (no charge to join), I usually get an upgrade. With the help of www.mousesavers.com I've found codes to get good rates. Only once I got an Alero (intermediate), most times I get either a Buick Century, or LeSabre. Once we got a Chevy Venture minivan. The cars have always been clean. Easy checkin, and checkout. I've been well pleased with Avis.
