Average time from closing to member #?

I apologize as this has to have been covered ad nause but i couldn't find it.

I finally close tomorrow. What is the average time for Disney to record me as the new owner and provide me with a membership number?

Also can i book a room as soon as I receive my number?

Also it's Aulani so is there a way to know when the deed is recorded?

Sort of. You have to call Member Services so you can activate your online account, then you can book. So MS has to be open when you receive your number in order to start booking.

Also it's Aulani so is there a way to know when the deed is recorded?

Not sure about online resources for Aulani, but the title company should mail you a copy of the recorded deed.

So, our deed appears to be in process with a record date of 1/13 per OC Records dept. online. Any ballpark on timeline to get member number?

The title was recorded 12/30. We saw the contract listed in our account (we have another contract already) 1/5 and the points were loaded 1/9. We just got our letter with the member number 1/17. How much difference New Years made is not clear, but I'm sure added at least 1-2 days. Would it have taken longer to get the points loaded if we didn't already have an account? Not sure.
I would expect 2-3 weeks from closing. Hopefully less. Good luck.

I would wait about 2 weeks from the date of the deed being recorded, then call member accounting and see if you can get your member number. See the closing time thread for the number and hints to help. Some have been successful wit this approach. We were able to get our member number and id and get our first trip booked this way 2 weeks before our envelop arrived in the mail.
