I am wondering what the average cost of a reception meal is? Buffet with stations as opposed to a sit down dinner? What are the price ranges?
And if you have oprn basr does anyone know the cost per person per hour?
Thanks for any info.

For a plated dinner, depending on where your reception is, can run you anywhere between 75-100++ per person. Lunch is also generally less. I am unsure of what buffet's usually cost.

Yes that is about right. It doesn't include bar or cocktail hour or cake. For lunch/brunchI think you can get it to 50-75 pp. I think the call open bar statrs at like 30 for a couple hours. I believe it goes up from there with the average being 45pp for like 5 hours (this does not include champagne toast however). the buffet at Disney is not "cheaper" i have actually heard many wonderful things about it, it is just another option or style for you event and I believe (I am not 100%) the prices run about the same as a plated dinner (65 and up pp). Hope this helps. I believe there are sample menus on www.disneyweddings.com

We had a buffet with stations for 15 ppl at around 4pm. This cost approx. $50 per person. This included:

Fettucini noodles with 2 different sauces:
- tomato sauce
- alfredo sauce

2 soups:
- lobster bisque
- broccoli and cheese

Breadsticks
Prime Rib
Vegetables
Stuffed Shells
Rolls
Salad with choice of dressings

We also had a bill on consumption bar which included 3 drinks per guest plus a dinner beverage and we were billed after that. The buffet worked out great, it was open for about 1 hour & 1/2.

Hope that helps.

Michael and I got married in November 2003. Our 5-course menu cost $68 per person (this does not include CH, cake or bar).

We had:

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup (Mike's favorite thing in Disney - it came straight from Canada)
Caesar Salad witha Parmesan Cheese Fan and housemade croutons
Blood Orange Sorbet Intermezzo in a Sugar rimmed martini glass
Duet of Filet Mignon and Parmesan Crusted Chicken
Garlic Mashed potatoes in a potato nest and haricots verts
Cinderella's White Chocolate Slipper Dessert

While we had 5 courses, we did not serve very expensive choices - soup is cheaper than Shrimp Cocktail, we did not serve lobster, etc.

Our food was wonderful - Michelle Dorr worked with me to come up with a menu that would reflect our tastes and appeal to our guests.

If there are things you like, tell your WP. If you have a maximum price you want to spend, share that as well.

I did not limit myself to the Boardwalk menus. Other than the slipper, our menu was custom.

Good luck!
