We went to McDonald's for dinner to get the Pirate & Princess happy meals (yes, we're a marketer's dream lol) and DS was disappointed that the pirate bandana he got was waaay too small. I measured it and the largest it adjusts to is 19". His head is 21.5". Now granted he's 97th percentile for size and big heads run in my family (mine is 24" and my dad's is 25") - but this hat just looked really small!

So - how big is your kid's head??

(BTW my princess bracelet is bee-yoo-teeful)

Yeah I had the same problem w/ that bandana thingee & my kid (also 4.) I think they went cheap & just made 'em waaayyyyyy too small. It's sized for like, a baby, who of course would have no interest in wearing a pirate bandana. We just threw ours out, I suggested putting it on our stuffed Pooh, but he wasn't into it. :confused3

My 5 year old's head is 19.5"
My 9 year old, is 20"
The bandana does seem like it would be pretty small.

I just measured my head and it's 21.5 I always thought I had a small head! :rotfl:

Well, it will probably fit my 5yo ds......but not his twin sister or his 2.5 yo sister.

My son has a tiny head, his twn has a big head, but she has Hydrocephalus & my littel one, just has a big head

My dd got the sleeping beauty crown yesterday and there is no way it fits her head (she's 4). My almost 2 year old can't fit it on his head either - yes, he loves to dress like a princess!

DD told me next time she would rather have a pirate toy!

I don't know how large my sons head is now...but I know he is still on record at our hospital for the largest head delivered... :headache: 10 years he has held that record!

Just thought I would share!!! :rotfl2:

When I had my DD the first thing that they said to my DH was big head! When they charted her head as an infant they always had to put a mark way above the 100th percentile. But that pirate bandana was teeny looking even for a kid with an average size head.

my 4 year old boys were so disappointed when the bandana didnt fit their heds either. It was small enough for a babies head. I dont know what they were thinking when they designed these stinkin' bandanas

I too have a child with a big head. 98th percentile at last check. I thought I was the only one trying to make the silly bandana fit. I just put it on his head and told him it was fixed. He was very disappointed that it was not a toy and once I got him pumped up about the bandana I didn't want to tell him his head was too big.

The crown seems to be made to sit on top of the head, not around. That's the way I put it on my daughters anyway. We usually do twists at the side of the head, held by a pony tail in the back so that there is a little something for the comb things to hold onto. As my husband told the girls yesterday though, "We have WAY too many tiaras in this house!" To which I replied that one can NEVER have TOO many tiaras!!

I am SO glad I saw this thread because I was so annoyed the other day w/ these TINY bandanas!!!:headache:
My two older DS's (6 & 5) got the happy meals & since they are Disney obsessed they were so excited for the pirate prize...well that bandana was so small it didn't even fit my 18 month old DS's head & I know that his head is pretty average for his age.
We put them on the webkinz, and they fit them pretty well!:thumbsup2

I like the Webkinz idea! - The bandana didn't fit DS7 either. I haven't measured his head, but nobody in McDonald's was actually wearing them, so I think everyone is finding them too small.

We went to McD's the other day and when ds got his happy meal I said,"Hope you don't get another bandana." He opened his meal and yelled ,"I got another one" and started crying. I had to whip the car around, run in and buy another another toy.

that is too funny! it will go on my DS' head but won't come close to attaching in the back. He just turned 2 in March.

I was thinking if we ended up with a second one, i could sew them together to make one that fits :confused3

Darn bandanas.

OK, this is a little OT, but my six-year-old got an invitation (printed on purple paper, rolled, and tied with a ribbon) inviting her to a princess party at the Chick-fil-A in her kid's meal.

This Tuesday they are invited to come dressed as princesses (all in costume get a free milk shake) and they are going to have face painting, have balloon crowns and wands for all the girls, and princess activities.

It sounds like so much fun. She is really excited! She can't decide between her Tinkerbell and Cinderella costumes. princess: Just had to share.
