Our Party me, DW, DD (20 on this trip), DS (7)
Breakfast TS Tusker House @ AK
Tusker House is a Character Breakfast Buffet. Characters included were Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. We had 8:05 reservation with the park opening at 9:00.
For drinks they have wonderful juice
DS had Mickey waffles (I think he ate 6 of em), carved ham, biscuit, glazed donut, and a banana. All were super yummy.
The rest of us ate eggs, bacon, sausage patty, carved ham, cheese Danish, fresh fruit, oven roasted potatoes, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, apple turnover, and of course MICKEY Waffles.
Getting there early is the key. We got a good 10 minutes of eating before characters started. And here they are.
At 45 past the hour they sing and dance around the room with all the kids with African instruments. Just in time to get done in order to be first on the Safari.
Overall rating for food was fresh, hot, cooked perfectly for buffet food. Tie in the atmosphere which is an awesome Disney party air about the place we give this an A+. We recommend doing it early on you AK day to get to off to a roaring start.
No lunch
Early Dinner - T-Rex DTD (OOP)
Mistake number 1, skipping lunch, not a great idea with a seven year old. He was cranky. So we ordered an appetizer. We got the Melalosaurus Mozzarella, which is cheese sticks. These were pretty good and came rather quickly unlike our drinks. They were cooked perfectly, outside flavorful and marinara sauce with just the right spice. It also came with a strange melted pile of cheese with sauce under it. It was good but only I ate it. Everyone else was afraid. I give it an A-.
DW got the T-Rexadillas and DD got the Colosso Nachos which they shared. These are both on the appetizer list but are hearty portions. Flavor was just average. Not much meat on the nachos. The quesadillas looked good but both of these get a C rating.
For me I got the Stegosaurus Steak and Cheese Sandwich with chips (fries $2 extra). Chips were actually pretty good. They are the hard, crisp kind, but had good seasoning. The sandwich was average. Size was ok but not many peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I give it a C- only cause of the chips.
DS got the Paleo Pizza, which is cheese pizza. We told him to pick something else but noooooooooo. So of course it was gross. Hard to mess up pizza but they did. Crust was undercooked, sauce was funky, and he ate like two bites. Luckily he ate some off the meat off my sandwich so he didnt go hungry. This gets an F.
Overall the atmosphere was nice, tables kind of close together, but the food was not good or even close to being worth the price. The service was poor as well. Overall it gets a D+ and we recommend staying away and enjoying Disney instead of this tourist trap.
Oh and to top it off a downpour occurred right as we got ready to exit and go to MK. This means we hung out in the Dino store (which is actually kind of neat) for about an hour since it poured so hard. The help there was so rude to the waiting customers as well because everyone who was waiting was crowded by the check in desk.
