What is the average age of the adults on a DCL cruise? Just wondering. I just want to know if we will blend in well! ;)

When I went in June 2003, I'd say that "most" adults were in their late 20's to 40's, but there were many grandparents traveling with families as well (and some without). I didn't notice anyone not "fitting in". My next door neighbors, who are in their 50's, have gone on the Magic without kids and loved it.

On our recent 4-day, it was strange - most of the folks were about our age. Few children, few young adults. But our DS said there were a lot of kids his age. We overheard some seniors saying how nice it was to have quite a few folks their age.

We guessed that different areas of the ship attract different age groups, and you have the illusion of traveling with plenty of contemporaries. The kids programs are super, they generally stay in that area (deck 5) or their pool, so we really saw very few of the hundreds of children that must have been on that ship!

So, I think you'll come back from the cruise and feel like there were a lot of folks your age, regardless of your age!

Been on 4 cruises, and both of us are on the wrong side of 50 now! We LOVE it! No children or grandchildren to care for (except DD- who is a very hard working CM!)............... but always find plenty to occupy us. You cant beat the fun of a Disney holiday! Here's to next Feb!!! Nat:Pinkbounc

Well, on our 10 trip on the Magic, I finally went to Serenity Bay (the adults only beach on Castaway). I was initially surprised that everyone there was either 20something or grandparent age...then I realized that all the "parents" were over on the family beach where I'd been spending my time. DD had turned 13 and was off on the teen excursion, so I got to be a grown up.

To answer your question, you'll see all ages represented. Young parents, older parents of young kids, grandparents, and some 40-60 year old adults alone...as well as the honeymooners, etc. It's a wide spread. The "average" age would tell you little about the mix.

Of more interest is the average age of the kids--which varies greatly by when you cruise. Cruises during the school year tend to be well populated with preschoolers and toddlers...relatively few teens. Cruises during school breaks tend to have more older kids. Of course, DCL limits the number of kids in each age group so that they can adequately serve everyone.
