I heard that it is best to do the Avatar rides at night because of the lighting? Is this true? We are going in early November, I am crazy to think I will have a chance of getting a fast pass on 60+1 and then to think I get to pick a time for FP time for FOP?

Pandora is beautiful at night. Both rides are indoors, so it doesn't affect them specifically.

60 + 1 might be tough.

Thanks. Will try. Only other day is 60 +2. So hard waiting to try for fast passes!

Going to Pandora at night is a different experience than during the day. There are all sorts of luminescent things and special lighting. It’s really cool.

Both of the rides are inside, so are not affected by it bring dark outside. Flights of Passage shows daytime in Pandora during the ride, so it’s the same day or night.

The Na’vi River ride is a dark ride and still the same day or night. I’ve personally found I csn see more detail in the dark rides at night because my eyes are already acclimated to the dark.

Similar question.
We also want to be doing pandora at night at end of the month.

With sunset at 8 and park close 830 will we actually have a chance to at least see the proper night effects in the land?

Wishing you the very best of luck although I had to change up plans because the earliest I could get for our October trip was 60+4 at 4:50pm. Just have a back up plan. I have heard that if you don't get a fast pass that going close to closing will lessen the wait time compared to most of the rest of the day. Good Luck!! :flower1:

my favorite time is twilight, when it’s starting to get dark enough for lights go show, but still light enough that you csn see details.
You will get a different experience at twilight then when it’s fully dark, but both a cool.

OMG I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE PANDORA AT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, sorry. We're leaving in 2 weeks and I'm getting a little (a lot) excited. Reading these posts made my heart flutter.

Pandora is breathtaking during the day, but an entirely different experience at night. They did an amazing job with the lighting. It is much dimmer than other areas of the park are lit, but really cool.
As far as the rides, they and most of the waiting area is inside, so it doesn't matter. However, we have found, the standby line for FoP is often short around closing time for the park. If you are in line before the park closes, you will get on. Our experience is often under 30 minutes.

Yes, especially because they won't herd you out of the park at 8:30pm sharp. If the standby line is fairly short, which is reportedly is, get in line for NRJ or FoP at 8:25pm. By time you get off, it'll be fully dark outside and you can see Pandora in its' full nighttime glory as you exit. It's cool.

We did a FOP FP in the afternoon yesterday, and obviously loved it. So DD9 and I went back at night to see Pandora and try to ride again.

This was around 8:45 right after a torrential downpour and during ROL. Navi said it was a 20 minute wait and it was 5 or under. FOP said 90 minute. We asked the CM if it was really 90 and she said it was although I'm not sure. I'm sure they pad it so they aren't there all night, but we didn't get in line and now I kind of wish we did. It's possible a lot of people got in line during the rain, but so many people left the park.

It really did look so beautiful at night. All of Pandora really impressed me.

The park is so cool at night. I'm not usually a "night" park-goer but the ONLY way I was getting on FoP was to go at night. Loved it. Went 3 different evenings to ride FoP and I thought the park was so beautiful at night.

The standby wait times for FoP and NRJ are both highly inflated the closer it gets to park closing. That's been my experience, anyway--FoP posting a 90-minute wait and the actual wait being maybe 20 or 30 minutes.

Also, OP, if you can't get a FoP FP+ at 60+1 or 60+2, then (1) try again the day/night before and (2) try when you're in the park. Use the "keep refreshing" strategy. It can work well.
