Avatar Movie Delayed

The movie was not anti-military. No military or governments were involved in the story. It was a huge corporation that hired ex-military to be their private mercenaries. It was anti-corporation, if anything.

I'm gonna agree...it was more anti-corporatist

And lets face it - pretty much everyone on earth is anti-corporatist...except the handful of people who are the corporatists.

For whatever reason?

Let me help you with that a little bit:

"Due to the fact Avatar is a political movie intended to bash the republican party's beliefs the movie tends to be very polarizing."

Avatar was just "farenheit 9/11" with Smurfs.

2.5 hours of "republicans are evil" "republicans hate the earth" "republicans put profit before people"

There is no mystery to why Avatar is polarizing.

Naw. I've heard others say that, but I didn't see it. What I saw was a good demonstration of cinema technology at the time. And that was pretty much it.

Avatarland will look cool but i think it will be costly for Disney and not live up to the hype

Weather you liked the movie or not? This movie seems to have large contingency of detractors. Maybe, this is why Disney wanted this project? I just don't see the return on money for this considering they have Marvel? I mean more people are interested in riding 7 Dwarves Mine Train than seeing Avatar Land? I really don't see the attraction to Avatar? Hopefully when this place is built and the movie is released it will make sense to me? I guess this is why Disney makes the big $$$ and I don't.

You'll hear different arguments on the subject, but there are a few of us here (I among them) who feel that Avatar got into the parks because 20th Century Fox and/or James Cameron helped out financially to get the project going. As you say, there are a multitude of options that Disney could have used from their own content library but for some strange reason chose not to do so. Those reasons usually have money as a factor.

Don't talk bad about my Grandma. :) (She owned ATT stock way back when.) Most people I know aren't anti-corporatists. They are smart enough to realize that corporations employ most people and drive the economy and get much of the work done in the world. Everybody who owns stock, or has a retirement plan at work, or anyone who has a 401K are all "corporatists".

But, hey, we do agree on Avatar.

All those scenarios you describe does not describe "corporatist" as it has become...

Especially your Nana

"Corporations" used to be a partnership between the stockholders, the management, and the most importantly - the employees.

Can you honestly say that it the arrangement now for anywhere close to the majority.

Not to get into societal issues... But come on...look at it Beyond your etrade account a be honest ;)

Interesting that a Republican finds it to be insulting towards the military. The liberals that I know find it to be insulting to indigenous people.

Do you know how many corporations there are!? Can you honestly say it isn't the arrangement for the majority?

There are plenty of bad guys out there, but stop watching all the movies that say corporations are bad. Twister wasn't based in reality and all corps aren't bad guys with black SUV's.

Most corporations are good people doing good business, making money for stockholders - including me and you - employing people, providing us the stuff and experiences we want, all while rocking the economy in one of the greatest and wealthiest nations on earth.

Personally, I love capitalism. In fact if you don't love capitalism and corporations, you probably wouldn't like Disney. Oh, wait...

We're gonna disagree here...as you well know.

Human greed is 99.99% addictive...

So speaking of Disney...
;)
