Whats the best plan? I have the the app and every time I look its 2.5-3 hours wait time, I couldnt get a fastpass for it and we are only going to be there for one day. We will be there on an early morning extra hours day but when i looked this past Saturday at about 8:30 it was already a 2 hour wait. I was thinking if we got to the park at 8:00 right when they open we could go straight there and not have a wait but doesnt look like it. Get there by 7:30 maybe? We'll have a car so we can beat any buses going there but not sure how early would be good. Also to those who have done is it worth a 3 hour wait? Any tips or help would be much appreciated.

I've seen on several threads that you should arrive more than an hour before park opening. Then, be sure to hold your position. Once rope drop happens, stay to the front of the pack as the crowd proceeds to FOP.
If you only show up 30 minutes before opening, you'll find more than hour's worth of people waiting in front of you waiting to enter the park.

I like going in the evening time as @Anabelletoronto suggests. Getting in line before closing usually means you'll have a shorter wait than published. The downsides are that you might be tired by then and also there is no recourse if any reason the attraction goes down.

we had emh @ 8am that morning and we drove in and had to walk thru parking lot, trams were not running that early, but we went straight back to FOP and waited about an hr it wasn't bad the next time we had a fp, but it's the best ride!!!! i wouldn't wait over 2hrs but the line moves fast.

We arrived at around 7:30 for a 9 am opening and were off FOP by 9:12. It's a long wait and then a mad rush to Pandora and then another wait but then it was nearly straight onto the ride.

It's recommended you arrive 60-90 minutes BEFORE park opening to ride with a short wait. Arriving right at park opening will do you no good, as people will be staking out spots well before that.

even on extra hour days?

Went the last 2 EMH took the first bus over arrived around 7. Breezed through bag check and in line for park at 7:15. They open the park at 7:30, first time held us at entrance to Pandora the next walked us to the standby line. Off the ride both times approximately 8:15 posted time was 175 minutes. My advice is to get there early like we did.

You will hear two opinions. Rope drop or end of the day. In my opinion you will end up waiting 60-90 minutes for either choice. I am a morning person so I do rope drop. I was waiting in the second row of the 'no bag' line for the Security check to open at 7:30am for a 9am opening. I was near the front of the line at the rope headed into Pandora. They opened the ride a bit early as I was back out front of FoP at 9:01am.

Arrive about 60 min prior to park opening or hope that the park is open later and try to ride right around park closing

I personally would do the morning option. I'd rather wait while not using park hours and much better shot at a quick wait vs hoping that the line is short at night

I haven't been there yet since this attraction opened, but I'll pass on waiting in a massive crowd of people for 90 minutes before the park opens and then wait again in line to ride the attraction. If I can't get a FP, I'll wait till the end of the day and wait in the line just before park closing. This way I'm not wasting park time in a line, I don't have to wake up at 4:00 am to get to the park, and I can go about and do my thing during the day. That's going to be my strategy next year for our visit.

Another vote for arriving at the park 90 mins prior to park opening. If I'm going to wait 2 hours to ride FoP I'd rather wait when it's cooler in the morning and I'm not missing anything else in the parks. Also, arriving that early will allow you to ride early then enjoy other parts of the parks before some of the crowds arrive.

The last time I checked Touring Plans on an EMH day, the wait 10 minutes after the park opened was 210 minutes. The wait 10 minutes before the park closed was 30 minutes. I think we'll save the 3 hours and hop in line just before closing time.

Exactly my strategy as I mentioned above. And while everyone is making the "running of the bulls" over to FOP after waiting in a sea of humanity for 90 minutes, I'll enjoy riding EE with little waiting along with several other attractions with smaller lines. :goodvibes

I've been watching the Touring Plan data recently and the first hour of the day is by far the busiest time for FoP. It seems way to stressful to try to beat that crowd in the morning when there are much easier and efficient options available.

Also, don't stop trying for a fast pass. Things do open up. I was able to pickup 2 fast passes for a one day visit about 2-3 weeks out.

we were able to ride an extra time at the end of the night. We had fastpass earlier in the day and decided to try for an extra ride. Posted wait time was 110 minutes actual wait was 15.

Nice. It sounds like someone really wanted to get off on time that night and jacked the wait time way up to scare off potential riders. You can usually count on the actual wait to be about one-fourth of the posted wait late at night for the headliners.

Jumping in for a FP question - I have an 8:40 - 9:40 FP. We hope to be there an hour before opening. Is it hard to get into the land if you are not there in time? Would we struggle to get in for our FP?
