I want to try this place as I have heard good things. Do you need priority seating and if so anyone have the number? Which charaters are around and are they there all day or just for lunch?

You don't have to have a PS, but it helps if you know about what time you would plan on eating. I don't know the number, but I'm sure someone else here does.

Characters are there for all meals. We saw Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale. They were in seaside garb which was very cute. Ariel is there sometimes, but not everyday or all day. We didn't see her at all. If she's one you really want to see you might call and ask what time she's generally there.

I really liked Avalon Cove. The food was good and the price decent for as much as you get. If you're a Disney Club member you can now get a 10% discount with your club card.

The 3 times we have been there for dinner - 5:00ish Ariel was there and so was Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip & Dale. They are all dressed up really cute too! I love AC it is one of our favs now and a new family tradition!
I have always made our PS's the same day in the morning at the park w/no problems.

Last September was our fifth time here. I highly recommend it but dining reservations are not necessary unless you are going during high attendance level periods ie Christmas time.

We have been three times with no reservations I think the longest wait we have had was 15 minutes. During the ABC soap thing. My daughter and I saw Robin Christopher and Jackie Zeman in the Avalon Cove bathroom during this visit. They weren't very friendly and they are so thin I think seriously a stiff breeze would knock them right down.

Hope this helps. We love Avalon Cove has the best character interaction and is way more of a value then Goofy's Kitchen. Just this last September for my 3 year old's birthday Minnie dressed in nautical wear spent the entire afternoon with her. She even sat down and fed my daughter her lunch and the she held her hand as she does every trip while they dance around the restaurant in a conga type line with other children in the restaurant and all the other characters. We have only seen Ariel 3 times out of the 5 we have been there. She is lovely. My daughter sat in her lap for a good 15 minutes last time we saw her. She is beautiful and is rolled around as she is seated on her rock.
