Please excuse me if this is the wrong place to ask, but wasn't sure where it fit.

I would like to rent points for a studio at BLT, I checked with somone who had availalbe points but was told the last day I needed wasn't available(all other days were). Is there a chance of it coming open or should I just give up hope and move on. Unfortunately I am flexible on dates but the date in question would still be part of our stay.

Also I have seen several posts about waitlists, but I am not sure if that would be an option when renting points. Could/would you pay the person your renting point from for that day and be put on the waitlist. Then what would happen if the date didn't become available.

As a renter I would book with an owner at 11 months and get the dates that you want/need.

There isn't any guarantee that a wait list will come through and it adds a level of complexity to the rental contract.

Waitlists, particularly for one night do often come through, assuming you are not trying to get an impossible night (like New Years Eve) but there is no certainty. Moreover, as a renter you are in a difficult position. An owner renting to you nay not do the waitlist option and, even if he were willing to do so, he may require you to pay up front for all the other nights and if wait list doies not come through, you either go for the time you reserved or forfeit the money paid. Also, even if waitlist might come through, it could be a while, interfering with what you need to do for other reservations such as air travel.
