Just checking for the possibility of extending my next January trip to WDW. Lots of places already have limited availability. Understandable but disappointing to me. All the people who've missed their trips due to Covid are now vaccinated and making up for lost time (and not wanting to lose any more points).

Thanks for the heads up!! Everything I book from now on has to be with borrowed points, so I have been putting booking off. Bad strategy, I guess.

We made a January reservation several months ago in the event the Marathon weekend takes place. A lot of Disney runners are anxious to get back to it. Who knows if and when the events will occur again. If this doesn’t happen, we will probably cancel our Jan reservation so there might be openings but we probably won’t know for several months.

I booked my room right at 11 months and noticed already how things have changed.

I think for the next two UYs we will need to book at the 11 month window as much as possible, especially for the holidays.

I am not seeing any unusual limited availability for January 2021, currently at 9 to 10. months out. Many days are showing as filled for time on or before Jan 10, which would be the Sunday of marathon weekend if it occurs. In pre-covid years the marathon weekend marked the end of the high to extremely high DVC demand "fall" season at WDW which runs from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan, and during which many things fill fairly quickly after the opening of the 11-month window. Post that marathon weekend, most things are open in Jan 2022 except for those that usually disappear before 10 months out for that time period.

It’s still good availability, better than normal for summer, but definately worse than normal for December in 1 beds.
