Availability the week after Thanksgiving

Maybe I'm missing something or maybe my memory is failing me from past years but I don't recall the week after Thanksgiving being this popular.

I went to check the availability of rooms based on the new holiday offers and saw only a few resorts left (mostly deluxes and family suites). I thought maybe it's just the offer but no, when I did a general search, I got similar results. There aren't any values (except for family suites at AOA) or moderates left for the weekdays the week after Thanksgiving.

Thankfully, I already booked my room (at RACK rate) at ASMusic but I'm pretty surprised at the popularity of the timeframe. Maybe people are wising up to the fact that the week after Thanksgiving is usually less crowded than the week of. :confused3 I guess there truly isn't a low season anymore. :rotfl:

Did you try changing your dates by 1 or 2 days either way, or shortening the stay or adding a day or two?

I'll second @bigbabyblues' question/comment. I frequently find all kinds of oddities with room availability on Disney's website. For example, a room will show as available if I make a longer reservation, but it won't show if I'm looking to book for a shorter stay. Also, the weekends tend to see far less availability (if any) for the discounted rates.

I'll also add that I visited WDW last year during this week. It was a lot busier than we had expected. People have definitely caught on that this is a great time to visit because the weather is great and you get to see all the Christmas decorations.

We visited during this week in 2017, also. I booked the Sunday after Thanksgiving for 10 days. I booked towards the end of April but wasn’t able to get the preferred room at POR so I ended up 5 nights Pop and 5 nights POR preferred. Next trip I will be booking as far ahead as possible.

Fall is now the busiest season of the year at WDW.

Yup. I moved the arrival date of my search up and down a day but still just about the same results. I didn’t search well beyond my intended travel time since I already have a Disney cruise planned right after my stay at DW.

I would also call, because their online system has been dreadful this year.

BTW; I just looked at 11/25-21/1 RO and lots of resorts came up under rack rate, (POR GV and up, CSR Standard and preferred) but not for the discount rates. WDW has REALLY cut back the number of discounted rooms that they offer:(

Just to show you how bad their site is. I am using the same dates on 2 seperate browsers and got 2 different results. This is one pathetic reservation system.
