Availability question...

We just signed a resale contract at OKW, and assuming it passes ROFR (I'm going to stay positive), I should be able to make ressies in about 8 weeks. We want to stay in a studio at WDW from Aug. 10-14 (Sun-Wed nights)with our points. Booking a trip in early may for that time in August, what are the chances that a studio anywhere other than OKW or SSR is available for those dates?

So, you'll be booking in May for August. Maybe there'll be some preferred view BWV studios, but you could still waitlist for whatever will be your first choice! Although August isn't a high use time, you're coming into the queue pretty late in the game. Pixie dust for you to get what you want!
One year I did an add on, and so had more BWV points to use and in May I waitlisted for a standard view 2 bedroom for the August 15th time period. I had 2 standard view studios booked. Well, the waitlist came through in June, so I freed up 2 standard view (great deal, not bad view, front, driveway side of BWV) studios for someone!

2 weeks ago I was looking for a studio for late AUGUST. OKW was the only resort with availability. I reserved nights.

I just booked 2 weeks ago for the exact same dates for a studio. OKW and Saratogo were all that were available. We really like OKW so it was fine with us.

Not to be a "thread stealer" , but any idea on availability for a 2-bdrm at OKW for Aug. 18-23?

There are seasonal DVC periods that differ from the other resorts but you just never know. The developer point issue has really changed the normal pattern.

There have been times when we have been very lucky, other times, not so lucky.

We have also had to cancel reservations for prime locations at very desirable times due to medical reasons. Plans do change so you just never know.

If you'll take any resort there's a good chance you can get something, doubtful at other than SSR or OKW though. Certainly take what you can get and wait list for something better. Good luck.
