Availability of AKL or VWL studio in early September

We're planning a 7 night stay the first part of September and Kadani or VWL are our preferred hotels. OKW would also be in the running as its the best price. We plan to rent points. Do you think we'd have a problem with availability if we booked in the next 2 weeks? Thanks!!

Also looking at HHI last minute trip last week of April. Would that be feasable?

I just checked for you...Sept 1-13 (didn't know your exact dates). All days have availability in studio standard and savannah view. We will be there 8/30-9/4, so I was pretty sure there were still studios, but just confirmed online.

What size room? I think you have a good chance at getting what you want for the Sept trip to WDW...but the April trip to HH will be tough especially if you want a 1BR or studio.

As for HHI we would be looking at studio or 2br depending on if my parents decide to join us. I figured that one was probably a long shot. We may look at something along cape hattaras as its a few hours closer for us (12 hrs as opposed to 14+).

For the first part of Sep you are already within the 7 month window. That is a time of year when much is open at 7 months, including AKV savanna or standard, and VWL. Nevertheless, it is not wise to wait much beyond the 7 month window to make a reservation because things can start to disappear quickly. Not sure why you are contemplating another two week delay but you should consider doing the reservation sooner.

If you want to do the April HH trip in a 2BR, you should get that booked ASAP as well. Good luck and happy planning! I know how it is to be waiting on family...we are waiting on SIL to see if we will do a big family Xmas trip at WDW (though DH and I would rather do Thanksgiving week as he gets 2 days off that week as opposed to 1 at Xmas, but inlaws won't be able to go that week). We have friends who would like to go with us at Thanksgiving too (11/24-29) and we'd want a 2BR at AKV-Kadani (standard or savannah view) or a 2BR at BLT (lake view)...we are adding on AKV resale points and won't be able to book until @April 1...(we'll probably book AKV if it's available and then maybe try to switch to BLT on April 24...though we may just stick with AKV).

However, all this could change by the time you actually book your stay. That is why the DIS doesn't want members who own at various resorts to find availalbility for others when they can't even book the stay now.

Until you can actually book that stay, it is wasted energy.

We're officially booked for our April trip to Hilton Head. 7 nights in a 2 Bedroom Villa. Rented points from someone a friend has used several times and got a very good deal.

Just waiting to hear from my parents if they're joining us for the planned September trip to VWL. Would like to move on that one soon as well.

I think you should be relatively sure to be able to get a studio at AKV at the beginning of September.
I even succeeded to get a studio value at 7 months for 12 nights! Kidani is a big resort, so there should be plenty of availability, but the earlier you can book, the better.

Congrats Stacey! I can't wait to go back to HH...probably Aug 2014...sigh!

We decided to do AKV for Xmas. My AKV add on contract was passed through ROFR yesterday. I hope to be able to book the Xmas trip by the end of March...would love closing to move along quicker as I am anxious to book. We will book a 2BR and a studio standard view Kadani...we hope. My SIL has AKV points and checked availability and right now we are good...I just hope it stays that way.
